When to top

My plants are almost 4 weeks from sprout and I want too them above the 5th node. Does it make any difference if you top the node when its very short and new leaves haven't opened out fully yet or if you wait till stem have got taller? Thanks

I would give um another week , I do the fifth node cut on most mine sometimes I get lucky and end up with four colas or two more than usual thinking they the queen bee, good times . EA67C356-7555-4A0C-83A7-3E9A2ED87B71.jpeg

No. I just wait till there is enough stem to snip without missing.
Leaves dont need to be open.
