When to re-pot seedlings (pics)

Hi all you happy growers!

I just have a quick question. This is my first time growing from seeds and I'm wondering when the best time to re-pot is? I planted these on 8/29 so it has been 10 days. They were germinated in paper towels and then put into a grow plug with the taproot down. I hope you can see how tall they are from the photo's.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!!

Just a few recommendations

Why even put the seedlings in those containers if you need to transplant 10 days later? Just plant them directly into the larger pot. Also you need to move your lights WAY closer as those plants are pretty overstretched.

Well, I guess I put the seeds in these containers because it was my first time growing from seeds and this was the method suggested. Also, I have the light about 1" to 2" away from the seedlings, the light was raised just for picture taking purposes.

Your cool. Thats how ya do it.
 
I agree.. You can transplant to a solo cup with a few holes burned in the bottom with a hot nail etc.. Keep them in there till the get a nice root mas and then transplant them into your 3-5 gal etc..
 
When transplanting, I like to bury more of the stem in the new pot. Generally to within 3/4" or so of the seed leaves. The extra stem below ground will sprout roots, as well as giving you more room to work with in the future :)

Good tip. I do that my self.
 
Well, I transplanted them into small solo cups (they were at 12 days after germination). They are doing great and I did bury a bit of the stem but I wish I would have buried more of it. At least they are healthy and growing fast. Now I just have to hope for females!!! I'm so excited as this is the first time I'm growing with award winning genetics (The Hog from TH Seeds!!). I'll kepp you all posted.

Thats cool.
Ya can bury more on the next trans plant. About 1 week in those cups, Maybe a little more.
