The trichs on the top of my plant are looking mostly milky already with a few scattered amber.. hairs still mostly white but I've heard to go by trichs not hairs.. With that being said the top looks like it would be ready for a more head/up high... But the lower buds still looks immature.. Would it be ok to cut some of the top buds off and let the rest continue growing with more light?

Id let em go longer. Im at that stage to buddy and i cant wait. But i have to. Remember patience is key. When you think its ready, wait another week. Mine should be ready next wednesday, but i prolly wont harvest then just to let em fatten up some more.

In your case, id prolly wait 1 week, then chop whatever, leave the immature buds and keep her going. Just cut as few times as possible.

I strongly suggest posting a pic of it on here for us to see because . some times you scope it out and it looks done and actually it will take 3 more weeks lol even though it looks done in the scope . it is not its strange like that but I suggest waiting to 50 % of the hairs on the bud turn brownish . if you scope it out every single day it will look done for some reason even though it is not . idk why just the way it is . its like it will go through a few different stages of growth before it is actually finished .

It's your plant... you can do what ever you want...
You want the most Milky Trichomes as you can get...
If your top cola has hairs growing out top [color do not matter]
Then it is not ready... Hairs on top cola stop growing then the hairs recede back into bud...
That is when the harvest window opens...
Just remember Amber Trichomes = degraded...
Degraded= low THC... undesired...
