I'm doing my first vertical grow since setting up my much bigger tent I have a double cooltube and I'm struggling to decide when to go to 12/12

I'm growing Lemon haze, blue cheese and northern lights shiva

Nice grow, I would let the plants veg until they are "hugging" the bulb from all sides. Seems like your set -up could really net some YIELD, if grown properly. Just my 2 cents- :peace:

After you switch to 12/12 - now - once you start to see bud/flower develpment - then you have started the flower stage Generally one is in vegation stage for 45-60 days before switch to flower (more time in veg = bigger plants/yields)

However, one can flower 12/12 -from seed if so desired. Imo, it doesn't make any sense to veg past a certain point, as plants will stretch massively and the light penetration diminishes rapidly indoors. It is true that generally bigger plants produce a bigger yield. One has to experiment with what works best under their specific set-up.:peace:

I'm going let them grow another few inches to 3/4 up the cool tube as they stretch slower vertically as the light is not above them still using my mh bulb which slows stretch, top bulb dual spectrum tho so will possibly stretch the tops

Going to keep mh for first week or 2 of flower to stop stretch

then ill change bulbs over to 2 600 watt hps with super for last 2 weeks

Have to fit my scrog net around the tube yet and hopefully loads of nugs

You are right some 100% sativa's breeders recommend an short veg time (1-3 weeks) of just as you mentioned start you grow with a 12/12/ cycle

Sure, and many learned growers recommend growing hazes or landrace sativas with 0 veg.time because of their insane stretch and unruly/aggressive vertical growth. If you have some experience however, one can even tame these strains indoors under CFL's- (not really recommended). My last mini-grow consisted of Speed Haze (ssh x j. herer) and I only used 3 65w/ CFL's to grow myself 3 plants on a 12/12 from seed regiment. They tried to grow "through the roof" so I had to severely prune/Lst/super-crop them. Ended up with about 1.25 ounces of good smoke, giving me a long-awaited break from smoking the local SCHWAG. :peace:

I have some Durban Magic from Seeds of Africa. IF (?) I ever attempt running it indoors under my 150w HPS I will only go 12/12 from seed. Outdoors, I would still plant her a bit late in the season since I don't really want 12' tall trees to wrestle with. Never grown Durban before, so I will have to see how she goes and "play it by ear".

That's the fun of it; growing something you never had before and always thinking about the harvest
