When to flower while LST-ing?

Strain: Nuken (KishxGodbud)
I have 3 gallon pots and will begin LST-ing in a week or so as my plants are only 3 inches tall with their second set of leaves coming in quick and strong.

I want to keep the plant within the confines of the pot and plan on guiding the main stem around the edge of the pot in a complete circle. I'm going to have to start doing this soon, but to keep the size of the plant down, should I begin flowering soon (after 2 weeks of veg) and LST the plant throughout the flowering? Or is it absolutely imperative to only do LST during vegetative growth and let the plant do whatever it wants during flowering.

I'm thinking once I complete the guidance of the main stem around the edge of the pot (during veg stage), the flowering stage won't make the plant grow outwards; only upwards, so I shouldn't have to worry about the shape of the main stem growing all willy nilly after I molded it through LST during veg. Is that right?

When you LST with the intent of keeping the plant within the confines of your pail the main stalk will often grow faster than the side branches. I have almost always had to FIM the main branch to keep the canopy level and even.

Hey thanks a lot for the advice! I do believe I will have to fim/top when the main stem has gone 360 degrees full circle around the pot to where it began.... Just worrying about how cutting the top will affect the plant during flowering...

Ummm the same way it affects the plant any other time...you aren't really supposed to cut and then flower instantly...supposed to give a little veg/recovery time...
