pretty self explanatory... i have cotyledons that have their first true leaves on em, but i have no clue when to hit em with the nutes....

its about 2 weeks if its in a small seedeling tray if its just in normal soil no added nutes.. u could probably wait till u see that ure first leaves that have sprouted start looking lighter green compared to the others then u know ure plants are getting nitrogen deficient... water half strength on the recommended amount as the instructions say...less is always better than more u dont wana burn ure plants....find ure balance with ure nutes....ps what are ure nutes? big ones like foxfarm have easy to follow charts n shit.... peace

thanks mogie, i honestly dont know what my nutes are going to be. these things popped up three days ago, so im just figuring out if i need to rush to the nursery or not.

You start fertilizing when your plants start to show N deficiency.
Your plant will start looking pale - thats when you need to start fertilizing.

When will that be depends on your plant nutrient uptake, needs, medium, method of growing and pretty much everything.
2 weeks is usually the time your should START WATCHING for N def. in prefertilized store-bought soil mix.

What does it have to do with DIY?
