when should i switch to 12/12

I Am limited to space this grow anyone recommend when i should switch lights to 12/12? i had topped about 2 weeks ago and will end up with 6 tops now which i had planned on only 4 but topped 1 node too high. check out the pix. this grow i would like dense buds. should i let her get taller or should i switch to 12/12 now. i was thinking waiting anothe 2 weeks and then going to 12/12 on the 1st of september. i just switched out res added 10 ml micro and 20 ml bloom to my 2 and a half gallons of water. using gh flora series nutes. :weed:

added another pump and airstone, so now there is 3 3 inch airstones :fire:

Well it depends on how big u want ur plants to be when they flower.. I put mine in veg a month into due to lack of flowering room.. Now they barely fit under the lights.. You can do 12-12 anytime you want. Alot of ppl wait till they are about a foot tall or soo.. Not me..

Yea judging by your pictures, I would wait about 5 weeks. I have a bagseed that I let veg for about a month and its over a foot now....

edit, I reread noticing that you said you topped... if it stunted the growth anybit then I would just judge by the height of the plant. If the tallest is around 1 foot then I would start to flower.. i attached a pic of mine as of yesterday (im flowering as of two days ago)

As this is my first dwc you can take my advice with a grain...
I am using a cooler with a 10in net pot cut through the top. I am using GH grow and bloom in 3 gallons of aqua. My plant is about 6in and I started flowering 2 days ago. I wait till the 5th node is decent and then i flower. I am still learning but doing what I can. I need way more light as i am only using one 100 watt cfl. I plan on adding 3 more when i can. Considering a mh light too.

Force flower really depends on ur grow space requirements and knowing the strain grow characteristics of the particular strain u are growing.
If u are aware of those specific things and this is ur first dwc. Just know that when all things are done correct in dwc u can expect to meet all of the breeders final grow hieghts etc.. With 3 full weeks veg tops.

With that being said tho and the previous growers answer is correct..
Topping will stunt ur plants vertical growth until the side stems catch up and create new main tops..

Next the finish hieht and size of ur plant should also depend on ur flowering Light.

I force flower mine fast around 8-12 inches to try and keep my wattage/cubic foot proper..

Bigger plants arent neccesarily always better unless u have enough light and enough of the correct light to finish them to maximize ur grow space and yield..

thanks for all the tips, today i switched to 12/12. this is actually my second dwc grow but the first where i am trying to control size. :weed:

You have a lot of top space left so I'd let them grow. I'd veg 5 weeks or at least 12" tall before you flower. They will about double in size during flowering. They should be mature (5 weeks in veg). The taller they are, the more finished product you'll get. It's good to trim the tops two or three times so you have plenty of growing tips. Also, trim long side branches as well. The more growing tips you have, the more bud you'll get.

Denser buds will depend mostly on how much light you have, not how many growing tips. You can have 1 main cola that's very wispy if you don't have enuff light.
