When should i perform LST?

My 2 clones are about 6" and 8" now and the taller one seems to be alittle lanky and are about 2 1/2 weeks in soil, mabey because my light isnt close enough. But i was wondering because i wanted to increase my yield alittle bit and try and grow more nomes.
When should i start pinning the plant down to let it grow upwards?

as long as the plants arent too close to flower you can perform LST. just start slow and dont over do it or it may induce the plant to become a hermie
