Do most people measure including the pots and root system iceberg style or do they just measure the top foilage?

When I measure mine usually dry on a scale .Alive start at ground

Dude my plants look like the best case scenario I could have imagined.
It sucks I can't get pictures! The opportunity to get them from camera to computer hasn't come yet, since I have a laptop it doesn't take the camera card.
The Indica is getting so heavy that is leaning like the leaning tower of Piza. But I think it's for the best, since the lower branching areas are getting so much more light. The top canopy has nothing but air under it.
The others were slow flowering but they seem to be catching up.

How about you?

I usually use my phallus when measuring,
If it's taller, than I know its bigger than a foot

from the soil. Otherwise plants outside would be over 7900 miles tall since the "pot" they are in is 7900 miles from the "bottom" side relatively speaking...
