When Is My Weed Ready To Cure?

So on October 2nd and 3rd I chopped my plants down and hung them up to dry. I chopped when the soil was wet btw if that matters. It is now the 12th so it’s been 9-10 days. When I touch the buds they’re sticky but they feel a little hard and crispy. When I bend the stems, about 2-3 inches up from the base, some bend, some crack, but they don’t completely snap in half clean. Am I good to start curing or should I wait? This is my first grow. Thanks!

It has more to do with Humidity and Temps but it sounds like you are ready
Slow dry and slow cure equals success

Thanks brotha! Don’t want to fuck it up now. I think I chopped a little early too but whatever I’m starting my second grow next week. I don’t want to run into any mold problems

What do you mean? They’re hanging in my closet with a fan. I have to check humidity?
Drying is drying. Curing is curing and then we have what some call ageing.
Drying is complete when the wanted RH is stable over say a 24-36 hr period. This is normally done in jars using small RH meter's. The curing process takes place after this IMO.

Cure when dry, there is no rush, make one jar up and practice on that a few days. If i put weed in a jar i expect it to be dry enough not to have to do all that burping. I merely check a few days its stayed dry.

Pro tip, jar up on a low humidity day :-)

Good luck and keep us informed, when i jar my bud i expect it to stay dry, burping should merely iron out the last couple percent and not make up for inefficient drying.

My bud dosent change much with curing, it smoked as good before as after, only time changes my bud, well aged bud is the bomb, curing i nay give a damn about past a way of keeping it at the humidity i dried it down to as it ages.

Far too much cure hype, youll see over the years that its not what many make it out to be, on small craop i cant be arsed as its gone far too quick :-)

I like to start my Cure,When the Bud is not far of been totally dry, just a slight Sponginess to the buds.Pack the jars or Bags .But not too much so the buds have room in there for air to get round each bud when you burp the Jars,Or in a Bag when the bags opened to let the stuff breath.

I have had loads of people say the best cure is for around 3/4 month,But i have smoked bud i forgot about that was over 12 month curing, and the taste from that stuff was amazing.Far better than any that i have tried with a less time curing.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also think that bud dried and cured in the Paper bags ,The thick brown bags like the ones you get from Primark.Only good thing that shops good for lol.But be careful of these kind of bags because these can pull moisture out of the bud.I like to hang my bud,for around 4/5 days. The other days i like to put it in cardboard boxes. This pulls moisture from the buds,And helps with the drying process.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I make Oil from the vast amount of my crop,so i have loads of people telling me that Curing is not Important when making oil I disagree,Curing helps lock in any Medical Properties that the flowers may hold .I also really do trim the buds up neat,Because sometimes i do get rid of some. The leaf is all used in a Lover grade Oil.The sugar leaf,I just Mixed this with a high alcohol liquid. Then put the mixed stuff on the window sill ,outside in the sun for a couple of hours this makes the liquid change color. From a Greenish color to a Brownish.Has the Chlorophyll Dissipates.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The strains that i have tried after 2 different curing times, was Girl Scout Cookies,One lot was cured for around 6 Month the other i forgot about and found it about 12/13 month later,It was like smoking a different strain.Same Happened with Blue Lemon Thai,The taste of them was just so smooth it was un real.I don't think it will be happening again ,to be honest.I don't normally have that much meds. But it was when,i was getting good crops every 7/8 week. But i do know that i have some G13 Blueberry Headband,Laying around somewhere just un-sure where yet.I keep all my stuff in a safe at a friends house and he is out of the country. But i have a feeling its there,Around 1/2 lb.Could really do with that to be honest. But he will soon be back, then i can grab it.The other 3/4 of it i smoked was stunning smoke,Around 4 oz smoked rest to Oil. and it looked, really nice ,the Flowers. Can't wait to try it after this long cure.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I would Love to test the Oil,After 12 month Cure.I'm just wondering ,if it would have any Benefits or anything Negative to curing longer

5 days into curing with the boveda packs. Gonna give it a solid month to fully cure then smoke a fat joint of this critical jack. How does it look?

It looks like its gonna get you high :-)

You did putvin extra so you can test it every now and again?

Try leaving some out of the jar for a month to also compare as this is a learning process and also intresting :-)
