When is it to late to grow outdoor

I looked for a thread but couldn't find one. When would yall say it is getting risky starting a seedling outdoors in TX? Because of it not having time to grow. Thanks!

You can do it any time now. But do it soon...summer solstice is almost here and we will start losing day light hours.
Thankyou very much!! So im about to be gone from home for maybe 2 weeks. How can I try to ensure my seedling especially doesn't die? Should I plant in the ground first instead of a cup or pot? Its very hot here right now. 100 dagree F. Im screwed huh? my other plant is well adapted and will do fine.

In a cup will dry out fast. In a few days. Def. A huge pot or in the ground. I would mix up some polymer crystals in there too.
I've heard of people filling up a 5 gallon bucket with water will 2 small holes in the bottom and then placing that right next to plant. It will very slowly release water then.

Okay thanks I may try that. So it looks lll only be gone a week. In your opinion should I just grow inside with this seedling or put it in the ground for hopes of a bigger yield/ less work and let mother nature do most?
