When is a good time to switch to veg?

I am currently sprouting and I know i can have the light on 24/7 for a good period of time before i have to change it to scheduled lighting. Can anyone look at this pic and tell me when i should start my veg cycle?

It would be helpful because my schedual is spur-of-the-moment and I need to get a power timer to ensure correct lighting.

Just put it on 18/6 now, there isnt much difference between the seedling stage and the veg, i have only ever used 18/6 from the start as i think its a waste of electricy you dont start the veg stage the plant does at the moment its growing roots when it has a sufficient root system to start veg leaf growth will speed up

nongreenthumb has it right. Think of Mother Nature. The sun definately does not stay on for 24 hours just so plant seeds can germinate or grow into larger plants. *lol* I have to admit though ... my seedling/cloning cabinet has lights on 24/7 too. *lol*

Yeah I figure I might as well rear them to a point where they arent so delicate then start my cycle.

If you think about it though i dont know how much more light im gonna need with bonsais in a 2 cubic foot area. (i plan to fill that 2 cubic feet with pot too)

lol my plants are gonna come out of there square

I put my sprouts under my mh & hps when there only a couple of days old. I put them close too so they wont stretch. Only for a hour at a time untill they get used to it. It works and helps kick start your grow. watchen dont burn

Yeah but im really set on developing a good cheap method. so far ive spent a grand total of 13 bucks.

Perhaps you'll be lucky enough to get 13 bucks of weed to smoke then, just a thought huh?

but yea dude..you should atleast go buy some more CFL lights....this is a cheap effective method.
if you want bud...you will need more than one light bro.
