Hi everyone,

Here is my Humboldt Seed Co. Trainwreck, grown 12/12 from seed. How much longer do you think she'll be? It looks like it could be any day now to me...but I don't want to cut her down early and before she fattens up to her fullest. Any input from experienced growers would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks a lot!

Could be close. Might swell up a little more. Has it stopped growing? Probably need to look at the Trics.

Yeah she has pretty much stopped growing, just getting slightly fatter as the pistils recede, and only throwing out a random new one here and there. That was the main reason I asked for some opinions, lol.

here's some updated pics, sorry they're not closer, but it's the best I could do. I agree with you guys about the week, I think I'll chop Tuesday or Wednesday....

Man that trainwreck looks great. Good job. Do you not have a scope ? For bud that looks that good I'd surely spend 12 bucks just to know what my trichs looked like. Anyhow, I'd say maybe a week. Will be lookin forward to a smoke report. Peace

Dude....
Your plant is not ready....
Why? Because it is still making white new hairs...
NO new white hairs... NONE... unless way low....
Once my plants stop making white hairs, 2 more weeks...
Then hairs recede into bud...
How are your Calyxes? Double or triple sized? Two little hairs receded into calyx?
All these thigs mus happen before you should harvest....
Seriously, do what you want...
If you or any other newbie needs to ask when his plant is done, wait another week to ten days and watch your plant morph into a milky trichome heaven....

I usually judge by a few different aspects. 1: when production slows down considerably, calyxes are swollen and pistils are mostly red. 2: trichome's are mostly cloudy with some turning amber. 3: overall look of the plant (fans dropping/fall colors in the leaves). If you can get all of these aspects to align at the same time then you are in peak harvest.

Only sure way to know for maximum potency is trichome cloudy for good head high amber for full narcotic affect get a good scope like 4 dollars on ebay

Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

good job. they look beautiful.

i've cut them at about this time, but just so you can see the difference, this first picture is of a mature marijuana plant that i cut a few days ago. the pistols have receded, the colas are a darker color and the trichs are mostly cloudy, a few clear, a few amber.

this one is in the same tent, different genetic. it's trichs are a bit more than 1/2 clear, 1/2 cloudy. i've definately chopped plants at this point. it's a lighter, clearer high and has it's place in my stash but it's not mature yet.

i went another 10 days on her and the next one and will be chopping tonight.

same with this one. part of me wanted to cut it, but the adult part says nope, not ready yet.

i'm cutting the rest of mine tonight, some could go another few days but my clones are ready to burst out of their closet.

i changed nutes and i'm not happy with what they have done to some of my leaves.

Oh, I forgot to put up pics, lol. I think I could probably chop her whenever now, but I was just waiting a bit longer to see if she'll fatten up any more. Here she was last night:
