When do you all flip on the veg lighting?

I've got a few seedling going under a t5 for a single plant RDWC scrog grow. I'll be picking the most vigorous seedling to transplant to my bucket once the roots look ready. I'll be using my old CLW Solar Storm 440 for veg and bloom and I feel like last time I grew with this light I put my plants under it to soon and stressed them out. What factors do you guys consider in terms of age and maturity of the plant when deciding it's time to bust out the big lights?

size, all about size and expectations. some people are giggly with an ounce harvest. if thats you veg for a month. I can sprout a seed in the flower room under 1k lights and they grow, just not always as big as
a plant that vegged for 3 months. if the light is too close the young plant, as well as the mature one can show negative effects

if you can handle providing proper resources to an 11 foot tree then veg your plants for months and month and months if you can.
vegging costs more than flowering. your math can help decide what you do?
I veg when my plants are about 18 inches, in five gallon plants, about 45 days.

I'm sorry, I don't think I was clear with my question.. I wasn't asking how long to veg. I was asking how long people recommend waiting before switching from my t5, which I only use for seedlings and clones, to my solar storm, which I will be using to veg and flower.

about 5th node. should be 6tall x 6" side by then. start high 24" ish and lower as you see she can take it.
u can put it under the bigger light as soon as it breaks soil/medium. no need to wait.
Not sure which of you to believe... lol. maybe I'll compromise and turn on the big light at the second node... or see if more responses come in and see if a consensus forms..

I've used the unit you have as well as the smaller solar flares. They can handle thee SS just keep it higher(approx 24") or better for youngins/seedlings,OR lower it and turn it down. Factors to be considered are....
1.environment- get this correct (vegging environment) high humidity, air circulation, temps and leaf temp.
2. strain/seed vigor
3.Diet.how are they responding to your feed regimen
4.The roots!!!!!! Are the plants healthy?

I put my seedlings right in the veg under the "big lights" from sprout. They can take it.
That CLW light won't hurt them unless it's too close <12" while they are in the first week of seedling growth. HTH

In my flower room (150sq/ft) I bring them in at about the month mark for perpetual, it's nice and keeps everything moving along if you have a plant count that is. I usually have bushes at the 1 month time running hydro. Bring them in and push them at an angle then they fill out the rest of the way.
