I was inspecting my SSH this morning and I noticed a limp leaf sticking out of one of the biggest colas. I knew immediatly what it was....bud rot! WTF, no rain, or anything. This SSH is sooo dense that a little humidity can cause it to start up. I'm sure having it kinda stuck back up in that corner with not much air movement didn't help. I was getting ready to chop her anyway, she's been cut-off from the nutes a while. I was gonna wait till Monday but I don't want to lose any of this plant so I took the 5 big colas off (their done) and hung em' up. Harvest has officially began! haha. I only found the one bad spot on the one cola, and prolly only lost 1/4 oz total. I threw away more than I kept last year of this strain, and still got 3 lbs each off em'. I'm gonna wait now for the rest to come down next week, along with 3 others that are done, Lemon Kush, Juice, and Cateract Kush are done too. Here we go!!

Wheezy, I hate to say it bro, but loosing my biggest buds to budrot, was the reason I got the fogger.

You put a lot of water on theose buds with your hose end sprayer

Good luck

peace

Wheezer Your plants look great! I have always wondered what it would be like to grow some place where it doesn't rain much. So thanks for posting and I can see your stuff and know how it would be. I can also tell how much love you put into your plants they respond will to that and will be really stoney for you. Where I live I get 110 to 120 in per year. This year has been wet. Here is a pic of my little grow. I'm a cloner so plants are outside 6 to 7 weeks then done. Aloha from Punaassorted 041.jpgassorted 008.jpg

Hey Wheezer, do you hang it and dry it with all the leaf on it then dry trim everything?? whats your technique on the trimming and drying process??
If time allows, I prefer to cut the plant, remove the water leaf, and hang it on stem till almost dry. Then I hand trim it, and then finish drying and curing it clean. I noticed last year if you hang it with the water leaf in tact till dry, it adds some green flavor to it. I don't trim wet cause you bruise the plant, and it comes out darker looking. I had a machine last year and hated it, if you look at my big 40, grow, there's a pic of it there. Not a cheap unit, but it didn't make me happy at all.

X2 on that Wheez.I like to Hang, trim, and cure.Wet trimming is a mess anyway. My buddy bought a trim pro last season, used it for a day or 2 and that was it.He sold it for like $850.It was brand new still. That should say somthing about the power trimmers. But the Grill Slime that we scraped off of it was Bomb!!:eyesmoke:Nothing beats a good hand trim!

There you are Wheezer! Beautiful nugs you've got man! I am loving this whole grow process. The trimming is a bitch, but one that is well worth it. My hands are cramped, my neck, shoulders, back are killing me, but it will be worth it when finished. mmmmm I love this plant!
