What do y'all think of this interview? I think he was looked up to as a genius for the simple fact that he was 100% real and honest with nearly everything that went on in his life. He talked about things like love, hate, drugs, money, compassion, politics, family problems, relationship problems, media biases, friends and basically things that every man, woman, and child go through.

You gotta understand where pac was coming from. He grew up in new york, baltimore, and oakland ghettos...his mom was a crack fiend for a long while during his adolescence and he was raised by drug dealers, prostitutes, and gangsters. He really built himself up to the heights that he did all by himself. He wasn't born into any thing. It's like one of his favorite quotes...If you saw a rose growing from the concrete, you wouldnt judge the rose because of its busted pedals and wiry stem. You would marvel at its beauty for beating the odds. So when you see Tupac's flaws - the ones that are deeply rooted in the situations he was raised in - people should take those as just some imperfections that comes with his shining persona.

See now your post i can relate to,i grew up in an area of Detroit called the Cass Cooridor,it dont get any worse that this area,i only have a 7th grade education, been locked down twice, tons of horrible shits happened to me my entire life & i worked out of it all my own self,i built a family, successfully raised children & put them through school, everything a person strives for i did with no help from nobody, exactly like you say tupac did,it takes perserverence not genius.

This alone is enough to make anybody loose all respect for him,he had the world by the ass & through it all away from stupidity.

Just because he had determination i wouldnt say that made him a genius, the fact that he was raised in squalor & violence, then intentionally retained that part of his life once he had a choice to get away from it forever made him a fool.

Not a man i'd like my children to use as a role model for sure.

i was quoting someones post who said it was shoot or be shot. did you read it?

you don't know me or where i've been, but Oakland ain't no playground. you assumed alright.

you speak like you shoot people. it must all go together. the "tupac", ghetto, thug way, i guess. way to uphold a stereotype. maybe you can better yourself by starting with your grammar. this will get you a better paying job. you can buy a bigger gun.

i NEVER judged you. until now.

the first post in this thread asked for opinions. and i quote "....... anything you wanna talk about, throw it out there!"

aight first off your right i dont know you, i dont kno where u been at, where u stay at, who u live wit, i dont know shit about you. but i aint judgin you. im going based on what you said. and yes i read what he said befor and i know your quotin but that don't give you the right to talk so recklessly about other peoples lives. i can sit here talk try to explain what its like to u to live in a home where you gotta slang drugs just to keep the lights on and have running water because theres no real jobs that pay enough to do that, but im not going to. because if you don't know by now, your never going to. secondly where the fuck do you get off telling me that if i correct my grammar that i can get a better job so i can buy a bigger gun. what kinda shit is that? you don't kno me either. so don't sit here and try to assume im some sort of narcissist or a sociopath or somthin. for all the fuck you know, i could be some computer nerd with an instant messaging complex. you don't know that because you don't know me. you have the right to state your opinion. you dont like pac? ok fine, you dont have to. but when you go callin ppl out, being disrespectfull because they believe in him that causes people to be defencive and kills the whole debate. now if you don't like it then, i suggest watching what you type because the reply might not be so nice.

When you build yourself up from nothing you have to make tons of mistakes to finally understand "the right way to act". I'm sure you made a million mistakes in your life, and you wouldnt trade them for anything because they made you who you are today, and can't anybody tell you different...you just know it for your self.

I guess genius is really not the right word but it's used because it's so easy to use. Perseverance, patience, courage, honesty, compassion and confidence are all traits, when combined, some people might label as genius. Tupac no doubt had all these traits, maybe alittle lacking in patience, but he was still learning. With no one to lead the way for him, he had to plow his own path and learn from his mistakes, just like you. He really did have the world watching and he probably just wasn't mature enough to realize the power and responsibility he held. Given enough time, i think he would have sized the opportunity to reflect on the the wrong path he was on, realize the mistakes he was making, and redeem himself.

On a side note. It's great that you built yourself up from nothing, built a family and put your kids through school. If that's what your highest goal was, then I got nothing but love for you, like Tupac says in one of his songs. Though these things may be great, it's really all relative. Those things are not what every person strives for. If you had a vision in your mind of a family life being the ultimate goal, then you succeeded beyond your wildest dreams because they are now a reality. But for some people, a family life is just a hindrance, another obstacle that needs to be sacrificed to continue on a path towards their own goal, whatever it may be.

I wish someone would have told me that when I was younger... I'm still figuring out what that means to "act right"

Panhead's right about detroit and the rest of michigan isn't too great either... LA is crazy, but Detroit is CHAOTIC and unpredictable as a mofo...

I will slang a lil weed here and there if i need to, I'm not proud of it, but sometimes we do what we need to... Believe me, I'd much rather Smoke what i buy, but sometimes money's tight and i need a pack of smokes...

but I play pool to pay my bills when i aint got anything to build in the garage, I've found my hustle...

oh yeah, Pac is dead, but he also had over 200 unreleased songs at the time of his death, and his mother Afeni Shakur has rights to them, Thats why that man keeps puttin out songs with current artists...

this thread is an insult to my intelligence. a genius? not one person has shown a single thing that 2pac did to make him a genius. not ONE example. just vague references. he was a rapper. he's a dead rapper now.

So should people with absolutely no input on the subject... That's right, only people who listen to him should talk, no way would that be a one sided debate......
