Whats wrong with my plants....

The bottom leaves on my plants just started recently yellowing, and drooping. It all happened in a matter of like 2 days. The plants in general are definitely growing very slow, this is about the 6th week since they germinated. It could possibly be overwatering from what I already read here but def am not too sure.

For lights I got a 24" plant/aquarium grow light, which is bout an inch away from the plants. Then over top of that, about a foot and half away from the plants i got a 48" cool white fluorescent tube.

Right now the plants are in Miracle Grow Potting Soil, it's the instant food release type.

Here's a closeup of the one dying plant...you can see the bottom leafs yellowing...

Just a couple things. Lights need to be about 3-4 inches above plants w/ floros, have the plants almost touching, but watch them as they will grow at spurts and if not watched grow into the lights and burn. The leaves you were referring to will die off, they don't really have a purpose I dont think. They are kinda small for 6 weeks, but they could be root bound. I would try to transplant them into something a little bigger.

When you eventually transplant to bigger pots it will be a good idea to add some perlite to the soil to increase drainage and oxygen to the roots.

You need to get better lighting you can get cfls at walmart for veg The k value needs to be 5500 to 6500 these will be called daylight bulbs. you can get 2 100wt cfls for about $7.00 Thats reason the plants are so small they should be about 12" at least by now.
