What's the purpose for tubing on acrylic bongs?

My friend has a acrylic bong with a pull bowl and its nice and all but it has 4 tubes that are on the bong and I can't seem to figure out their purpose. Is it for looks? Does it help cool smoke down? Or something else. Here's a pic of how the hoses are on the bong http://www.everyonedoesit.com/onlin...er_MultiChamber_Bong__Red.cfm?iProductID=2372. But it's just a straight tube instead of the weird one in the pic.

It's the cheap-ass way of making a percolator. My old U.S. Bong (aaahhh, the '70s) had something similar before I murdered it by washing it with alcohol ... cn

it sounds cheap lol. Tubes for percolators? He wants me to buy it for $20 off him I told him okay just cuz he needs a little money and I like the bong cuz it's 18 inches tall. Just was wondering why the tubes were there. And also how do you clean a acrylic bong with stickers all over it since I can't soak it cuz of the stickers peeling off and it's acrylic so alcohol will just fuck it up. Could I just fill it with hot water let it sit and put some dish soap in it and rinse it well?

I have a bong just like the one in that picture. mine is a triple chamber, and the hoses are interconnected between all the chambers, so the smoke has to travel through 3 seperate chambers of water to reach my lungs, its quite a fascinating sight, when all 3 chambers are bubbling. Are you sure the bong your buying doesnt have multiple chambers? theres only one place to put water?

lmfao you took the words out of my mouth. was going to recommend not buying a plastic bong cause alcohol will DESTROY it!

I actually filled mine and then walked away... yay for brains... came back to quite a work of art... extruded sections along said hairline cracks, like freshly quaked earth...

Yeah its just a straight tube but it does come apart in the middle but its still like a classic acrylic bong with hoses pn the sides.he brought it over the day he got it but we couldn't test it out cuz we had no bud :/
