lol yeahhhh probably.

GML has form for wrongly going off about shit he doesnt understand when slating rival companies, think Steve had to wind him in before....? it wasnt a good look for HLG... i'd of sacked him there n then but i guess Canada's a big market....

Anyone told GML flushing makes no difference yet? the man made a career telling people the opposite...stands there with a bloody hose pouring water through his medium for DAYS.
Its all business. Chilled should have known better. They done chilled a service and given them exposure. Sycophants followers can spin it anyway they want.

Notice they paid for multiple tests, but not the par mapping. $900? Too expensive? I call B.S on that part. I bet a 2.6 bar light has way better par numbers over a 2.8 board light with a big hot spot in the middle. Where is HlG's bar light Stephen talked about months ago? How are they going to break 3.0 umols like he claimed?
I'm sure the barlight is coming. Stephan has tried to be cautionary about aspects of it. We will see the price on that one. Be interested in par maps and hanging height data that follows.

I just look at ratio of led type in product. I am sheeple. Love efficiency claims. But then with the likes of Aussie High Lights and Rocket Soul favouring red end of spectrum, I compare the Diablo and the Growcraft and see Growcraft bringing that red.
Love reds! Osram is what I'm rocking at the moment, but I hear the xpg3 Cree is just a slight bit better. To me HLG is more about adding racing stripes, where chilled is more about total package. I like Pacific Light Concepts builds. They use Cree reds and 301b's, sphere tested 2.8 umol. Are the full of shit too Stephen?

I like Photoboost, but the price means fewer bars run harder. So not for me. Think HLG has plenty of product that could be considered a total package. You can be like the people who get first in line for the most current product, and change up when new new comes along. Or you can be a slow adopter, and hold out for previous gen and price. Think if you have a social circle, buying new new and using for only a few cycles before offloading and upgrading is an option.

Some people come from a place where new new being recycled via po auction to hydroshop kind of sticks in the craw. Thats where the outlook would predicate adopting a compromise. Guys living in medical and legal land don't have those concerns.

Greengenes priced his build out to about $800 for 8 bars. As for HLG its the same design over again 550 or 650 what ever. Pretty much the same. I don't like the fact the 550 was built to emulate an hps. The hot spot in the middle is inefficient. Diode spread is tight not spread, they could change that pretty easy but they don't.

OK, so what is it, Cree, Cob, etc?
Many designs for many size spaces and multiple LED strip options here.

It is a bit dated , some newer strips not mentioned but it gives you a good idea of some options and the general idea of things.
Lots of good info regarding various ways of choosing and wiring different drivers on his site too.

As a side note, seen a few old mods popping their heads back in here. Covid giving you more time on your hands?

The PAR mapping that HLG show is useless though. It's not worth $1.

What point is it to know how much light is not lost when you have no reflective walls? Yes that's a dumb question, but that's the only one that chart is answering.

It was used by burple manufacturers with the 90 degree beam angle lenses to show a concentrated beam of light in the middle of the 5x5 area so they could claim their peak value was higher than that of an HPS. And it's abused like that by HLG too.

You need to measure these lights in a real world setting. With reflective walls or with a whole matrix of those lights hanging next to each other at the correct spacing.

The youtube video I posted above shows how Migto tested the light. Very uniform light. Way to much light for such a small space to be honest but apparently that's the new craze

Yeah, I'm not a GML fan either, and he does seem to say some noob things from time to time. I watch the GML show for his guests, who are usually pretty insightful.

I wont buy HLG no matter how cheap they are , and I bet HLG would not care less what people think - after watching the stream live and reading the crap on insta I lost all respect for the company , business 101 never run down a competitor's product/company and make it public-- only my view so bring on the haters the truth hurts :peace:
