Whats the longest youve ever cured or seen bud be cured?

I'm smoking on some stuff that is at a 9 month cure right now, it's close to the point where quality stalls and then starts to go down (it just tends to get a bit harsh in my experience after a year or so, particularly if you are using something like a jar or another container that isn't as air tight as a vacuum bag or something). That said, I remember my bro-in-law finding a full jar of DJS' Blue Moonshine that had been behind a couch for about a year and a half and while it definitely was a little harsher than it should have been as a result of being a bit dry, it was absolutely phenomenal and incredibly potent.

I have some cured in mason jars with Boveda humidity and dryness control packs, about 20 jars, always for personal use. I have some that are 3 weeks old up to 2 years cured. I pick a jar depending on what I feel like smoking at the time. They are all good regardless of how long cured.

I just finished smoking some GG4 from my harvest in late Jan 2015.
I like to give it at least 5-6wks to cure. Some of my strains truly have a flavor change around 4-5wk cure. Like the BB3, around 5wks in the jar and you get this wicked awesome citrus flavor on the exhale. That taste of citrus is there on the exhale from the get go, but the taste becomes a full flavor when left for weeks in the jar.
My advice to every grower is to learn to dry properly and cure. Makes all the difference in the world.
I have a friend who grows high quality plants, then dries them into shit basically... It is so sad, but he won't listen to me. His problem...

In a clear ball jar, i like to smoke it all before 6-8 months.
In a black anti-uv sealed jar, i can leave it for 12months + and not have to worry but its usually all gone by then.

i never cure longer than a few months. its simply not beneficial, thc is fully decarboxylated, compounds are degrading at the room temp, hopefully in complete darkness. the high can change with these compounds but not in a good way imo, easier ways to produce cbn.. flavor can improve up to maybe 6 months, then its just sitting there. you can only cure so much afterall. enzymatic activity has stopped, theres little "nutes" for the plant to break down. its lost the pretty bright green look.its not better, flavor and the smooth burn can flip on you and be harsh..

Of course this is your opinion buddy. Aged wines suit some better than others and maybe it's not for you. I just can't call you someone who appreciates the low road to which marihuana goes. Seems like you're in it for the science of it, not the benefits to which long cured bud may have for some. I interpret your comment as an opinion because I've smoked 2 year old bud and the high is wonderful. To each their own so don't say it's not better.

i suppose im in it for the science lol, my work does revolve around it.. what are these benefits long cured bud may have? id love to hear about this... and how do medical benefits differ from "science" in whats happening

I get rollover with my harvests, lol. So I pulled 2lbs outdoors and 2.4 indoor summer 2014. This summer I pulled ~2.6 outdoor and ~2 indoor so far(trimmed 5 oz yesterday). I'm all personals so it tends to last a while.

It doesn't offend me but when you consider that it isn't better or it isn't beneficial it strikes me as odd. The high is an opinion since it doesn't affect everyone the same way but thinking it's not better isn't the direction you want to go. Think paradoxical. While age can degrade supposedly age is desired?
