Get yourself a led strip fixture or qb, both are the same. Quantum boards are just already built led strip fixtures, nothing more.

By the way I'm not saying you can't grow amazing plants with HID's but you can grow them for cheaper in the long run with latest diodes. And long run is what you should be concerned about if your plan is growing weed since one crop takes atleast 3 months.

If you're not into building your own light which is not a crime regardless of what folks on here say lol you can go to Timbergrowlights.com .. they are top of the line and ideal for a home grower. I'm waiting on a light right now
Have you used these lights before?....I seen them online but for same price Amazon has 200 watt true power for 290 bucks the cree cob lights ...I seen the timber light was 260 bucks but not as much power ....both are dimmable so kinda confused on what brands to choose from....solar lighting in califCalif has 200 true watt for same price so if u can explain the difference in brand that wld be great my area is 80×2×8 feet tall and looking to help a 600 led ..wanting to grow 2 or 3 photos in this space ..thanx for help

That's what I'm thinking is a cree 200 true watt cob....looks to be the best for the price I'm new to the cob other than a platinum led series I have but the cobs are not real big
Just be aware that since cree cob fixtures became popular every cheap cob light on amazon tends to throw in the word cree into the title. But lots don't use cree at all and some of the ones that do use older cree cobs.

Timber make great cob fixtures.
Horticultural lighting group make great board based LEDs.

Rapid LED and cutter.au and cobkits.com do great cob kits at reasonable prices.
DiyLED.com if your in the uk.
Timber, HLG or cobkits in USA.
BCblondes if in Canada
Cutter.au (welight) in Australia

With a 6ft x 2ft canopy and a light that already covers 2x2 you only need 270-300w of high efficient LEDs to cover the rest of the space.
But that's real watts not imaginary watts. All the companies listed in previous post will only show real watts.

Mars Hydro. LOL!!!

But seriously, Timber, HLG, RapidLED, Chill LED, etc. are all good options. I have purchased from both Timber and HLG, and both have been wonderful as far as quality and customer service goes.

Hi,

I grow with ViparSpectra 600W Reflector (169$ /260W) and Amare SE 300 (about 600$)

I can recommend both lights. If you want the light as an addition I would go with the Vipars as they are not so extreme.
The Amare SE 300 can not be used as supplementary lights on this space, it will burn everything away. Very intense light.

If you want I can show you pictures of the two in comparison (Have plants in week 6 of flower under both so you can see the difference quite good)

let me know :)

You can go with Timber which is a great company I settled on black dog LED myself they run hot but their production is almost as much is my 1000 watt HPS is but the quality of the medication is usually far superior
They are expensive but the quality speaks for itself.. and is an actual 1000 W light
I did decide to go with a 250/400 watt sun system digital hps light ..but now I've plugged it in man it gets a litter warmer than I thought It would what is recommended height for veg and flower?....I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to cool this light off enough for proper climate but the height to plant/flower is what I'm mainly comceconc about now

Usually recommended height for LEDs for a veg n flower is going to be between 12 to 24 inches I get mine close to 6 inches away after training zzzbut you just have to watch out for bud bleaching... I have bleached the shit out of the tops of my plants from getting the LEDs to close ...With any light you’re going to get a bit of heat distribution if the LED is giving me more heat distribution than you’re used to I would either try to supplement with an in-line fan pulling in fresh cooler air or an AC unit you’re going to have to create an outlet for both of them and a filter to mask the smell if that something you’re interested in

I’ve grown massive quality buds with shitty Chinese LEDs such as viparspectra, they’re great for being less than 100$, but I’d only recommend them for a beginner as a way to find out if you even enjoy the hobby

If you’re sure you wanna grow, step your game up to COBs or QBs.

I love my QBs! My bud quality is insane. Check out HLG. I have a 2x4x7 tent and use the HLG 320XL

Roughly 500$

Actually you’re right the best thing to do is drop a little bit of money on something cheap and see if you enjoy the hobby and then go from there I started off with a mars Hydro that I got online for super cheap and a little 2 x 8 tent... made a ton of mistakes but enjoyed it so much that I figured it was worth the trouble
anyway sound advice
I bought a bunch of MEIHZ cobbs 300 W they have cree chips.. they work good but still wouldn’t trade anything over my black dogs those of been the best producers I’ve had other than 1000 W HPS

Its hot if you put a thermometer under it which i hope you havent.

Any hps chart will show you distance but thats assuming healthy happy plants, some might do.better a little futher off.

:-)
