What's the best county/city to live in Cali for a caregiver/med grower?

I'm looking to move to California for the awesome outdoor climate, laid back laws and the badass culture! :bigjoint: I'm looking to do things right by starting a collective and providing medicine to patients the clean right way. Iv'e heard great things about North Cali too so I'm quite interested in moving somewhere up there! Any recommendations would be awesome! 8-) Ganj

yeah, northern cali is great, anywhere north of fresno is awesome. You don't want to come anywhere near southern cali. Did I mention how great northern cali is?

NorCal is probably one of best places but as far as being "laid Back" there is still quite a bit of residual butt-puckering whenever the feds are in town. One good thing is you have a lot of decent regions to choose from depending on finances and personal likes. Every thing from cool coastal communities to warm to hot inland empire regions and temperate sierra mountains from the foothills to the Pacific Crest.

Also if you think california is anything like it is in the movies...be prepared to be in shock!

It's not a bunch of pot friendly hippies walking around speaking about love and peace. Actually i was suprised to find that southern california outside of the major cities is like the rest of the southern states in the US. Lots of rednecks, jacked up trucks and what not. Actually kind of feels like home.

I went up to Sacramento a few weeks ago...cool ass city...the downtown and midtown area feel alot like nicer neighborhoods in brooklyn. It's just so damned hot.

You have to really love your MJ to want to live in Fresno lol... Most of the Dispensaries are shut down and you can't grow outdoors.

You couldn't pay me enough to live in Fresno. The only thing the No has going for it is that it's not Stockton. :) Actually almost anywhere in the central valley sucks balls.

Oakland has some pretty liberal rules for indoor. Collective max = 3 people. 32 sq ft per person with no plant limit.

That's because it's flooded and hard to break into up there.
That's exactly why :) I imagine also this part of the state probably more than any other part would be least friendly to out of staters coming in to grow since there's so many people already established.

I am shocked nobody has mentioned the emerald triangle!

If you want to live your life as an outsider and outcast. ;) VERY tight knit community out there and I think that you would have to spend a considerable amount of time there just getting to know people to really "make it" out there.

Ventura County is real nice. Some of the most temperate weather in the world. There's a reason Oxnard and Camarillo have LAWS restricting the amount of residential property allowed, since it's all reserved for agricultural use. Close enough to LA that you're near a big city, but far enough away to escape the craziness. If you're moving to Cali, I wouldn't worry about the "laws" for weed so much as the quality of the place you're going to live. You can pretty much get away with growing anywhere in Cali if you're smart, but I wouldn't be able to tolerate living in a large portion of the state.

Stay away from the valley dood, fresno, sac, stockton all thats no fun and keeping your grow chill is goin to be tough due to the lvl of crime ina valley....keep it central coastal or up north is fabulous, youll get a better grow community up there, less cartel types than down south, if your up north an grow within your card perameters you should be set an only growin personals after 4-5 years...go north or coastal friend, down south an valley are way uncool...an fu** fresno, town sucks unless your a gangmember

Anybody got any opinions on Siskiyou county? It seems there's great land there to be had for a decent price, tho maybe remote?

Are there good coastal locations where the land is on the less expensive end for CA? I'm looking for 5-20 acres. Northeastern CA is the only part that seems to have pretty land that's not very expensive other than if you like living in the south ca desert :)
