Whats my seedling doing?

I planted 2 AK48 seeds, 1 of them didn't make it and now the other one is growing strange. I understand there is usually a certain level of symmetry especially with young seedlings, but this one is all over the place. The fan leaves are growing in sets of 3 instead of 2. Also it seems 1 or 2 of the leaves on 1 fan leaf get way bigger and healthier looking than another on the same stem....

I have it in FFOF, have been feeding her straight water @6.7pH

Will this correct itself or is it signs of a bigger problem later?

It very well could be. In the beginning I was pretty much just watering with a spray bottle full of tap water until it was good. It comes out of the sink around 8.0.

Hopefully it clears up by the next node

It can also be praying for magnesium or reaching for the light my seedling was doing the same but leaves completely up like straight up sprayed a lil foliage spray of seaweed extract and it’s getting better

The more I think about it, pH sounds like it could be the answer. It's in the same soil mix and in same tent with other plants that are doing great, but I have been giving it different water than the others.

It's hard to get good pics of whats going on i'm hoping you guys can see. It's growing leaves in groups of 3, but instead of the middle leaf becoming the biggest, the left or right will become huge and others will be small and scraggly. The leafs are badly deformed, almost like they are shriveling up from the inside, but some leafs are doing great and tons of new growth. Some of the new growth are very long and skinny leaves.

It's getting plenty of light, not sure about magnesium, the pics of mag deficiencies look different. I already watered it today at 6.3, maybe i'll try a little calmag next feeding. I appreciate all the feedback guys

10 days since sprouting

If you dont have a soil ph kit (7 bucks)
Then water untill there is the tiniest trickel of run off. Wipe it out. Let it sit for 15 to 30 min then then give it a bit more and test the run off.

Heat stress it is not.
Muties. Probably not. Mutated genetics on 2 seedlings right next to each other. Nope. Mutations are extremely rare in seedlings. Stress can cause mutations. Stress like ph being off....
I have never heard od a bad soil just soil that hasnt been amended properly. Soil is to dense add perlite now that bad soil is good soil. Ph, to hot, not nutritious, all thease things can be fixed before planting for cheep. This plant even grows in the earth in Chernobyl.

Oooo that actually sounds fun.... The Bad Dirt Challange! Have a non participant chose the worst potting soil they can think of and the challange is to grow a healthy plant in it.

An update for anyone interested.

She's gotten 2 feedings since I posted this. 1 water & 1 water +calmag @ 6.2-6.5pH The lower pH seems to be helping. There is some new growth that looks somewhat normal, and some of the leaves are starting to smooth out.

I'm not sure how long to continue the low pH treatment. Should I flush it then go to normal feedings, or slowly increase back to normal? I don't know if a flush is necessary if it is improving.

It's been awhile since I posted in here. Have had a lot going on and with managing the other plants I haven't put much into this one. I did lower the pH and gave some calmag and liquid seaweed, but besides that, no other nutes or anything special. Shortly after the last pics that I posted here, I topped the plant and trimmed off most of the ugly looking leaves, even the big ones. Since then I haven't touched it.

I put it into flower a little over a week ago now just to get it out of the way since its too ugly to take clones and not make waste of it. It is still growing very strange, I am thinking this plant just has a weird mutation but it looks like 2 different plants. 1 of them has really nice wide fan leaves with up to 9 per leaf. The other thin leaves, and most only go up to 5 per fan leaf. The wide ones early on were growing in sets of 3 instead of 2, like mj usually does, but only 2-3 shoots grew like this...

I gave it a heavy pruning today and found a lot of ugly growth, see pic "AK48 5". There's definitely something wrong with this girl. I have 3 more seeds, but I'll be doing Wonder Woman next.

Check everything dude.
Check for rot, pests and diseases.
Adjust both ph and ec/ppm, properly! If theyre out.
You're locking up. Somehow.
Check it all.
Comb it over.
Go from there.
Good luck
Tim
