lol, just kidding about pi...I looked it up. I'm actually not the best at math, but I promise I am sober. Why? I'm a sick and tired of being sick and tired...so I am not going to smoke it unless I grow it or unless one of my cultivator friends does. I just can't abide bad weed anymore...I HATES IT!!!

clonazepam is really good. it is. i have a scrip for it and can even drink on it. i got the anxiety and ADD bug so it levels my hyper activity pretty well. it is addictive tho and i've noticed withdrawl symptoms on long vacations.

Ironic, thats what my therapist and doctor said, as well as the deep breathing techniques. You ever practice medicine, skunk? LOL
if you're talking about smoking weed lowering anxiety, i know a lot of therapists that would argue against that idea.

No, I meant deep breathing techniques. You know...like how much air you try to take in a bong rip only without the smoke. ;)

I have never, in my life, taken prescription drugs. There is only one medicine I'll ever need. I practice it everyday.

yea I have had the same problem, i think smoking during all those years when I was young and being paraniod all the time has made my anxiety worse. It used to be that my axiety was only social like I would get quiet and stop talking when I was hi and shit, now Im over all that social bullshit but the damn axiety has manifested into exactly what you described, I start freaking out like what if im having a heart attack and then I also get heart palpetations which makes me panic even more.

I know this is all in my head cuz if I smoke weed when Im a little tipsy it doesnt bother me one bit because I am drinking liquid courage, this is causing me to become and alcoholic cuz I cant stop smoking weed so everytime i do smoke I have a bad urge to drink to chill myself out
it really sucks cuz it makes me feel like such a pussy to freak out like that, so mogie the strains you mentioned above, do you have any info you can link us to about this issue?

oh yea so im on lexapro too and it has done wonders for me at work as I somtimes have to go to important meetings in differnt counties and needless to say if that dont get a guys anxiety up I dont know what will.

I read recently that romulan is a good strain for ADHD because of its calming effect...
i read the article in Skunk Magazine... Vol 3 Issue 3 I can PDF a copy for you if you want.. it wasnt backed up on much scientific evidence.. as i think different strains effect different people different ways.. id definitly agree with you that better bud gets better reactions.. the dirt is just that... (and thats what the goverment grows... dirt) so untill NIDA gets off its ass and lets the good people at U-Mass do some real research.. medical marijuana will be stunted to the level of shamins and experamentations.. but not scentific proof....
im going through this argument with the VA over my own mental health care...
they want me to quit smoking.. but so far its the only medicine that seems to work...

good luck.. and keep us posted

I was recently diagnosed with Irritable Bowl Syndrome (basically perpetual stomach aches) and was perscribed sedatives: lexapro by my GP and librax by my gastrointerologist. I hate taking pharmacuticals...i think i'd rather suffer than take that stuff, but I got the perscriptions filled anyways. It obviously works for some people....I haven't taken any of it yet. I would much rather smoke a little bit of mother Earth than ingest a man-made sedative chemical compound originally engineered for use as an industrial dye. :spew:

It seems like this question of a good stress release/anti-anxiety strain is not easily answered. I have read a dozen threads about this topic---and recommendations span the Sativa <--> Indica spectrum. I still and trying to sift through the information and choose two hearty, diverse strains that can be grown together. I wish I could be in Cali and do a little sampling to find out what exactly fits my style. I used to smoke all the time but now it is once every month or two. I want to get something that will release the tension; make me euphoric, motivated, but grounded; feel a great, mellow body high without the couch lock; the positive effects should have a long duration; a smooth let-down; and wont leave me feeling burnt out if I smoke a few days in a row. I also want a unicorn, a ferarri, and a house in the clouds made of chocolate.

...once this stuff is legal we can get the top notch botanists and geneticists to create that strain...

But in the search for something close... maybe a Indica Dominant Hybrid? Maybe a mild Sativa? Any advice?

This thread and others have a bunch of great, common sense suggestions on how to eliminate anxiety/stress through eating healthy and getting exercise. That right there is huge and can make your daily life significantly better (and make your highs more positive).

I came across this great zen buddhism quote that has always stuck with me (and also chilled me out when I was overthinking)

You are not your thoughts.

The student respectfully approached the master, bowed, and requested instruction.

"My mind is very difficult to control," he explained. "When I want some thoughts to go, they stay. When I want others to stay, they go. How can I control my mind?"

The master said, "The mind is like a high-spirited wild horse. If you try to control it by locking it up, it will be agitated and restless. If you try to force it to be still, it will kick and fight even more.

"Take a bigger view of control. Within the big meadow of awareness, let the wild horse of your mind run here and there. With nothing to struggle against, it will eventually settle down on its own. When it has settled, you can tame it; when it is tame, you can train it. Then you can ride the horse of your mind, and it will swiftly take you wherever you want to go."

I have all the xanax and ativan and lexapro I could want, but that stuff is highly additive and you grow too tolerant of it. I just want to toke up and relax, so what is a good strain that anyone knows of for relaxing? thanks :)
Im diagnosed w/ the same ADHD. The xanax is a quick fix but doesnt last and the tollerance build very fast. I was on Lexapro for a year b4 refusing to take it anymore (you dont want to know what it did to me). After finaly getting all the SSRI poison out of my body I tried a little bud and thought I was gonna die (search thread "realy bad smoke") Ive actualy found that the more stimulating sativa smoke is the best. The uplifting feeling does wonders for depression/anxiety. Indicas make me just want to sleep wich ends up making me more depressed. I dont know enough to recomend a strain but keep in mind the effects will be way different once the lexapro leaves your system, wich took about 2 months for me. Also Ive found that cooking and vaping seem to deliver the needed alkaloids better then smoking. Feel free to ask me anything about living w/ theese conditions and my attempts at self medication, or my expiriences w/ what Ive been prescribed. My depression/anxiety is what drew me to this forum.

An indica sativa hybrid would do good for that as you don't want a strong sativa to get you paranoid then eventually become anxious. Serious Seeds bubblegum is a really good strain to start off with if you have these symptons.
