Whats going on with this plant???

Hello all. I dont usually have issues with my dwc but for some reason this one plant is not doing good. Banana kush using elite nutrients. Ph is at 6.0 . The other two plants share the same water and are doing fine. In the begining they all had a little light burn from the new led light i built but this cant be that cause it is only hitting this one. This has done this in 36 hours . Help from the forum would be appreciated.
 
How are you mixing it? Like each at it's own time into water?
Rinsing out what ever you measure with for every nutrient?
Looks like a lock across the board! Fucking no N getting through for one thing....

Took a look at the brand - WAY too much P!
They make my overpriced garbage list at the first look! Poor charting of too much P, even in veg!

Yeah each at it's own time, I omitted the C cause it's not needed and cause I thought the same thing so basically just 2.5 ml per gallon of root ignitor , a and b . and mammoth p at .6ml per gallon, I'm not following the schedule because they like all nutrients companies schedules , are way to hot. I got the nutrients as a sample so they were free to try, I usually use bc nutrients.

So you think it's a nutrient lock out>? I have been having to adjust the ph back to 6.0 almost every day, I just thought because of the small 4 gal res on it , it goes back up to 7.1 about every 24 hours. what is perplexing is that the other two dont look light green or anything but happy, the pics arent showing the true colors. So what would you do to get this back on track if it was your grow??
 
What water? RO? No Ca/Mg added to it?
I mean something is wrong if the pH is rising that high, that fast. Like the water isn't buffered.

What do you use for pH down?

Looked at Mammoth P.....Sounds sketchy to me! They say a bio innoculater works in hydro? Mmmmm, yeah sure. Bio's need something to attach to. Not to mention that organic in hydro isn't the best idea...Besides, your using synthetic nutes. Save the mammoth P for a soil run!

Anyway. They have had a pH issue, for sure the one your concerned about. It looks as if they have or are climbing out of it. The new(er) growth is shaping up. BUT, that big swing needs to be worked on a little. Either the water can't buffer or the pH down is not very stable. You have to fix that.

If you would supply actual color pics of the plants - it would help more then you are understanding. Because right now it looks like they need N bad and have been pH damaged.
 
It's burnt to a crisp.

I looks like you mixed a batch of hot nutrients, poured it right over the rocks like you were watering a house plant in a soil pot, and burned it slap to hell.

You're others look slightly burnt as well on the tips. It's almost like you poured the mixture in right through that one really bad plant and then left the mix in the reservoir with whatever water was left in there and it was slowly absorbed by the other two somewhat diluted and it only burnt them a bit.

When I get out of work tonight I'll yank em out and take better pics, I'll omit the mammoth p from the hydro, no RO , just a tap from well water in the house, Reads at 7.0 and about 50-100 ppm. I used vinegar for a bit until the gh ph down got here, would that cause any issues? I've used it before for whole grows using bc nutrients and never had an issue... Thanks for your time and knowledge , I've not really ever had any issues growing in dwc before :) BB

YUP vinegar is not stable - it does not "hold" pH adjustments in hydro!

NO, pH to 5.8 and let is rise to 6.2 and adjust back down!

I suggest you add some Ca/Mg to that tap...start at 3ml and see if the pH holds better.

Umm, add a kelp extract at 5ml per. I like Maxicrop seaweed....
Left has recovered and looks fine.
Right looks a tad starved and recovering.
Bump the N up a bit for a week and then resume normal feed level (or at the next dump and refill - which ever is first! A cpl of foliar N/kelp feeds on the right plant would be faster but, the left plant can use some more N for a bit also.

About how long does it take usually for the ph to stabilize ?

Oh man, Sorry I missed this question...

Once the roots have set to about their full size.....the whole system will stabilize and you'll see less of a pH swing. about 20 days from roots first hitting the solution surface.

I have my copy of that paper. Thanks for posting an open copy for the membership!

I haven't jumped at the bio stimulant yet. I do Intend to try it BUT, I have my doubts....questions anyway. Doing some testing myself will answer them...

Look at the paper again. The subject plants and the control plants were harvested at 7 weeks....
I know that the chances are that the plant was not fully finished to my standards for what I think "done" is. I mean as far as growing and harvesting for potentials - THC content specifically. They were early.

With that in mind....What would they have been at 9 weeks? How much more would those "control" plants have caught back up. They state that the controls did catch a lot back in their final 3 weeks...

In the end. Did the subject plants grow faster, simply due to more effective up-take from the bio stimulant?
Would the control plants have reached the same if run longer?
This brings the question then. Did it simply make the plant grow faster?

That in it's self would be great. Less run time = More profit by less material and utility cost!

I'm kind of on the fence till I get some and try it....
