Are you spraying them? That is a LOT of light and HPS is not the best spectrum for vegging at all.Yes it is possible and I know people do it yadda yadda yadda. If you can't change lights to a lot of CFL or a Metal Halide try backing off a bit with it.

I kinda felt like it was to hot for her right now. Plus everything i have read said HPS is great for flower not veg

Did you transplant into the ffof hf mix or did you start in it? I hear it is a little hot on nutes for seedlings and such. I started mine in ph'd rockwool cubes I'm about to transplant to ffof that was left after making my soil mix 4 to 1 ratio ffof_ perlite. I took the rest of the bag and flooded it for about 15 mins with water to flush out all the hotspots and nutes I could it was about enough for a 3 gallon pot which is now all seedling mix .

I started it in ffof in a small humidity dome with a small fluorescent light. It started to show these signs two days after being moved under the HPS. I have just flushed it to make sure it isnt getting nut burn and put a T8 with 6500k daylight bulbs over it. Already it is so much easier keeping a good temp and humidity lvl. Im going to give it two days and see if it shows signs of getting better. Before i try another route. I will say that another plant that was getting burnt from the light. i moved it and it started showing signs within hours. I was surprised how fast it was getting better.

That's a good ideal do not change to many variables or else you will never find out what the real problem was. Lights and a flush is a easy fix imo. How close was the hps to the lil fela it most likely was just getting burnt from the light. If I remember correctly a seedling only needs like 50 watts or so to thrive as it does not have the foliage yet to convert much greater watts.

wet leaves and 750 hps could do that..ffof is too hot for seedlings, happy frog is fine.
and all that light talk is nonsense...seedlings dont have the foliage to convert greater than 50 watts??
WHAT ABOUT THE SUN? lolol
put as much light as your airflow will allow, just (obviously) keep it higher than you would for a more mature plant.

What I mean was it's a waste to put a full 750 watts to seedlings for what a higher electric bill? What good does having so much light on that plant do? Does it really increase growth. I'm not trying to argue just trying to better understand what all that extra light would do for it but possibly cause harm from burning the plant to heat issues in the long run both slowing growth imo but I do not know to be honest since I have not grown with a hps set up

I only got it because my friend sold it to me for cheap. This is my first grow and since i have started, i have been doing a whole lot of reading. From what i gather, an HPS is very good for the flowering stage due to high amounts of red light, but not good for the veg stage. I dont know if it is correct but i did swap out my HPS for a T8. So we will see if it helps the growth. One thing is for sure. I will have a lower elec bill with the T8 over the HPS
