I think it depends on your conditions. In my case I like T5 florescents due to the low heat they generate and the low power they consume.

Yeah it depends what your looking for and your growing methods.

If your doing a lazy grow go with CFL's.
If you want the most practical go with CFL's - Low heat, low energy consumption, low cost.
If you looking for MAXIMUN yield go with HPS/MH
If your looking to be a hardcore super duper growing freak/professional/ Join the MLG(major league growers), then your gunna NEED a hps or mh because if you dont have one youll get eaten alive with words such a noob and shit like that.

so then i can use this 600 hps that i have and it would be best???

then just keep it on 24/7 for veg and switch light cycles in flower?

That will work but it is preferred to use a blue spectrum bulb ( metal halide) for veg and a red spectrum (high pressure sodium) for flower.

I find that my 250watt cfl is the best way to start, but only for the first 3 weeks then I switch to hps dual grolux bulb. Have tried all types and the best most dense compact node growth is from Cfl. I think it is best that only people who have tried all methods really contribute on this one.
