What's a good strain to grow quick as far as mushrooms

I was looking at growing some shrooms outside. I wish to find a strain that grows as quickly as possible. Does anybody have any ideas? How long does it take for the strain 2 grow into at the very least some pinheads..?

I don't think so. Just about any type of cubensis IMHO. I believe they are faster that truffles and pans. Truffles you would have to do inside. Or bury a pan and mark the spot. And it's too hot out for pans. They need the 60 degree temps.
Get a decent cube strain like B+ or Golden Teachers. Maybe pick up a syringe of Penis Envy, Treasure Coast or Ecuador to grow along side.
Good luck.

My favorite is Golden Teacher, it hit me stronger than acid once, but i dont know how it compares in speed. Only that it doesnt grow like mj, it grows in "flushes" u get several mini harvests from one setup if your lucky and take good care of it. Heat will be an issue as stated above. Are you doing spores or a prepped and colonized substrate?

Not outdoors. Indoors where the environment is more regulated. The pin time is more random with a mc syringe. If you got a known isolate or clone then you can better gauge the time frame.

Im with dasprout, get a good indoor system with sterile bag and grain if u wanna do spores. Works very nice, my fav golden teacher was done that way.
Over here in spain u get people who sell coloniZed substrate in a tupperware, all u have to do is give a little light (for the shroom to "know" its above ground) and the right temp, humidity and u atart getting pins. U can also cut up the colonized subtrate and give it some more food (ex floor and a bit wet vermiculite or even hay) and let it recolonize before you set it up for fruiting.

Growing mushrooms is nothing like mj, get reading a bit before you start. Basicly 2 cycles, under ground in the dark, mycelium and once its taken hold of ur substrate fruiting/flowering in light

Okay. Growing indoors unfortunately isn't an option for me. My roommates are kind of sketchy. So if I were to start them in a mason jar how long would it take assuming everything goes well? Golden teacher sounds interesting. I'll look into that. While we're on the topic can I get a decent substrate from the grocery store?
