Ok I know this is sorta a n00b question but today I would like to purchase a cheap PH meeter. What can i buy besides a digital ph pen to test my water reliably and cheap. I am on a bit of a tight financial squeeze. I also wanted to buy a spray nute for my plants also, was thinking more along the line of sea kelp. can anybody recommend anything or advise me what direction i should be taking??

i have had bad luck with cheap testers. what i mean is, if i calibrate to the 7.0 pH solution then when i check the 4.0 pH solution it is off and vice-versa.

But others have had very good luck with cheaper pH probes so your mileage may vary.

worse case - you can pick up one of those swimming pool pH testers (provided you are good at judging and matching colors).
