What y'all know about Des Moines, Iowa?

Going to be traveling from Central Cali to Des Moines for a week on business. Any 'must knows' about the place? Any night life? Any good eats?

Not planning on taking any herb with me. Figure a t-break is probably about due anyway.

Any warnings about Des Moines? Are cops bigger dicks there?

Any and all info is welcome.

That infamous Ozzy Osbourne bat bite incident? That happened in Des Moines during an 1982 concert at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. According to Ozzy, the bat was “very salty.”

Des Moines’ Iowa Primate Learning Sanctuary features a family of six bonobos. Three of the bonobos can communicate with humans using a system of over 400 language symbols.

The mask-wearing heavy metal band Slipknot was formed in Des Moines in 1995.

The primate thing is actually intriguing. Gonna have to tell our regional manager that I wanna go see the monkeys lol.
