Hi
I'm new all this and about to enter my second grow. I was just wondering what would happen to the plants if I didn't use a blue bulb for the veg period. Lets say I just used a 200 CFL (red) for the first 4 weeks of the plants life and then I switched to a 400 HPS (red) for the flowering period.

Thats what I have done!

Thanks
Martin

I forgot to mention I have two seperate area's one for the veg period and one for the flowering period. I forgot to switch my 200CFL (red) to my 200 (CFL) blue in the Veg area. So my plants have been under the 200 cfl red for the last 4 weeks. After 4 weeks i usually switch them into my flowering area 400 HPS (RED).

Thanks in advance of your help

Your plants will DIE!!!

It just affects how short the internodes are, how bushy the plant is, etc...

It will not harm your grow.

first plant i grew when i started with cfl's was with a single 2700k red bulb...that lil beast got about 3 foot tall...and that was with just 1 23 watt bulb...the only problem it seemed to have for me was it took forever to get it to sex and flower when i switched the timer to 12/12

Thanks for the speedy replies. The Great White Shark appears to be quite small and bushy. Should I swap the 200 cfl red for the 200 cfl blue, even though they have had red light for the last few weeks.

I'm planning on planting some new seeds early next week and I was planning on using the blue bulb to ensure the correct process is followed
