I'm not much on 'one post a day" either, but this is a good thread. I like to bullshit so I'll start this list on new thread.

Sounds like you boys have a lot of beans to grow....better buy more lights. Well I got my room pretty much squared away today. Took some pics I know I got the 2 bluegums. I took a picture of the spare space on that floor for a reason, show some newbies how to deal with sativa leaners here sunday or Monday.

Things going good got a couple heri/vortex with a grapey smell, got 1 heri/vortex that looks like dad. I do not know if I mentioned them either but yea the heri/vortex phenos are nice. The BB x's are starting to smell dam good along the stem!.

Hey I do not care if ya gotta post 2 times a day... I know I can edit if I forget to mention something... I just don't wanna have to skim every day to see what the boys are working on. Shit I probley could post twice a week and still fill ya in. Its all good guys thanks for telling me what you are doing, what your working on.

Here is my tent with my my 16 day old shorties. Sorry about the quality of the pics...crappy blackberry phone.

I currently am using 2 42W CFL's and 2 23W CFL's hooked up to a power strip with 2 socket adapters and 2 Y splits for a total of 4 bulbs burning. $30 total investment in that cfl setup which beats the hell out of those $200 overpriced crappy chinese made t5's the 'dro shops are pushing. The 1st pic is a total view of my tent and all the gear inside...600w MH will be kicking on next week when my C.A.P. Hi-Temp shut-off switch arrives (not a fan of fires while I'm away from my grow should my inline fan fail). I've got a nice little fan I got on clearance blowing over the bulbs and the plants.

2nd Pic shows my cfl setup that's hanging from my HID hood with some janky packing string....I wish I had gotten the hi-lo hangers instead of these stupid chains. 1 more thing to add to the shopping list.

3rd Pic....here's the babies. @ 50% nutes using 1 veg nute and that is it. Plan to just use a simple A & B type of nute regimen. I'm leaving all the additives out of this grow so I can learn the basics and begin to understand what the plant needs and when. My last grow years ago I was using different nutes and it was just a f'ing mess. Was planning to do a water, feed, water, feed....but I think I'm going to play it safe and just do a feed, water, water, feed. If my girls start talking to me wanting some more, I'll up it then. Nute burn seems like a much more difficult problem to correct than under nuting.

3rd Pic....really terrible lighting. damn flash didn't go off and won't work. Anyhow, you can see a little better pic of the cfl setup and my babies sitting in a janky ass baking pan :)

I might have to stick a humidifier in there b/c my inline fan has to run 24/7 to keep a constant negative pressure so that no stink escapes the passive intake holes. How big of a problem can low humidity really cause me?

You can see I have no carbon filter hooked up yet....that's on the list to add in about 3 weeks. Using a phat filter rated for 200CFM. Something like $80 shipped. Local shop wants $110 or some shit like that.

Babies will be movin' on up to 5 gallon pots in 1-2 weeks. Considering some foxfarm ocean forest mixed with a good dose of perlite for drainage...really excited. After every watering now, the girls really have a major growth spurt the same day....very cool to watch. I'm trying to do the right thing and let that dirt get nice and dry so they're good and thirsty when I water 'em. They seem to be responding very well. I've got 2-3 really nice front runners that have excellent growth, tight node structure, and I hope to god these 3 don't grow nuts :)

I got a bunch of free seeds from MJ at peakseedbc.com a few monthes back when I was strapped for cash and in need of some quality genetics. I popped 5 of them the other day and within 24 hours they were all popped, but within like 15 hours the first one popped and it had a double tap root. I have never seen this before and almost took a picture. After I put it in a soil plug she sprouted into a two headed monster. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Yes I've had twins twice. They aren't connected! Usually one is more dominant than the other. If you don't separate them carefully immediately upon germination one will likely only last. Twins among cannabis seeds are more common than one might imagine.

Those cfl's are no joke for vegging a plant. So far, I aint sold on those overpriced flouro fixtures the grow shops are selling....I think a cfl setup like yours is exactly what the doctor ordered. For some reason, the little bitches seem to love the 42's especially....i have 2 23's and 2 42's hanging in a staggered fitment w/ y connectors on a power strip hanging above my sprouts and all of them seem to bend toward the 42's...a bit warmer (orange) of a light.

and...is that a mini tent I see there? That looks like the perfect size for a cloning tent! If you kept 'er short n' bushy, you could very easily keep a mother plant in that thing. Shit, I'd love to stack one of those right on top my tent and link the ventilation :)

Quickly squeezed in some photos in the 45 minutes I had till lights off this morning. The only vegging Qrazy Train starting today is the number 2 clone. All of the other 4 clones and the Kaboom clone are in flowering. Making some room for those Plushberrys.

More Pictures are in my journal in my sig.

But here are a few.

I'm officially working on designing a new grow facility. Overall room might be 10 x 15, but that could change. Was thinking of dividing that into a flower and a veg room. Haven't figured out how many lights or the cooling yet, but that's what I'm working on. Clueless, but working on that part.

Well good Monday to you all. You guys are looking good! Jonny nice idea not to overload with all kinds of shit....Good call for learning! Nice to see you going at it.

Kind - I have seen the twins before....shit if you keep em both alive... 2 plants 1 seed. Now if all the seed companies could get that down. "just kidding"

Rrog - I like what you are working on as well.

Drying process=
For years I was chopping my plants down 1 at a time and cutting each to 1 branch and cutting all of the fan and surgar leaves off for a full manicure, then drying for 72hrs then placing in paper grocery bags until fully dried then jarring and burping for several weeks. Some strains were funky right off the bat but alot of others were not.

My last run was a switch from hydro to organic soil and I know that had to play a part as well but instead I dried the whole damn plant and then manicured when fully dried. I then let the manicured buds sit on a tray for 24hrs then in the jars for a couple weeks of burping. The difference was noticable the whole time the plant dried. None of the plants ever got that raw cut grass smell and were very auromatic and delicious throughout the dry. It is the way I will continue to dry for now.

Hows everyone else drying their bud?

paper bags aren't sterile and can impart contaminants. if I forget to leave the jar lids cracked gas can build up in curing herb just overnight... so it certainly is a delicate process glass jar curing... the dryer it goes in there the better IMO.

I'd guess that a big smell change occurred for you due to the dirt like you mentioned. did you use enriched soil or diff feeding than with yer previous hydro grows? nice to hear your satisfaction from newly increased aromatics quality. bet that all conveys nicely to the smoke too.
