What Watts??

Hey whats up guys. Havent started growing or anything yet but im about to start buying my equipment. I was wondering how many watts my lights need to be. I plan on having 5 plants in a hydroponics system, growing in rock wool. Also, ive read that its best to use two diffrent sets of lights for diffrent growing times. Does the wattage of these two need to be the same? Is this method really neccesary? I was planning on flourecent in the sprouting period, and the high pressure sodium bulbs for flowering.

Any additional wisdom is appreciated greatly

You are going for the cost of hydro, and since 75% of the budget should be light, splurge. 400W should work nice on the 6 plants. 600W would be great. 100W awesome. Heat will be a factor. Your space will dictate whats needed.

5 plants? 600 watter would be your sweet spot (most lumens/watt)

im growing in a closet that is 3 feet deep and about 4 feet wide. So 600w would be the best but 400+ will do fine?
