What was your first pipe?

I was taking a soldering class in High School and the last thing we were supposed to do for the next class was to turn the irons on so they would be hot for the next class. I decided to share the smell of the resin built up in the chamber of my corn cob pipe with the next class. I smeared some on an iron and turned it on and left. That room reeked a bit.
And we all know that resin can be one of the most noxious smells into the world if you aren't used to it lol. Good game.

Speaking of resin, I used to have this completed weed fiend of a housemate a few years back..he was a baker and would get home at 4am. If he didn't have green he would sneak into my room while I was sleeping, scoop wet hose resin out of my bong and put it straight into the bowl still wet.

He would then proceed to pull on that shit Until it dried while smoking it, all while standing directly beside me. I would wake up to the worst smell of wet resin and some smelly bastard bubbling away.

I have never smoked resin in my life and I never will lol. Once my weed has been smoked once, I give up.

What's even crazier, I have watched someone dry the resin from my bong, smoke it, then drain the bong and to the resin of the already smoked resin, that came from already smoked weed. .bruh. you smoked that weed three times..

It blows my mind. If I run out of weed, I'll go 8 weeks till harvest before I smoke resin or buy weed from someone else.

something i realized today.. even though I love glass, I think I have to admit that my proto pipe gives cooler, tastier hits than my glass pipe. not something I expected.

The first pipe I had was a homemade water pipe which used a mayonnaise jar and a straight bong tube and some surgical tubing- that was in 1972
The pipe I have now I've had since 1987 and has a fossilized walrus ivory bowl
I got it from a guy called Junkie Ray who had a fine set of buckskins
Many years later, I met a guy who recognized it as the work of someone called "Jingles", who sold these fossilized walrus ivory-bowled pipes on the street around the Eugene Saturday Market

Just looking at this pic makes me hear the whistle of lighter fluid getting sucked thru that lid
I had basically the same thing except mine was brass. The chamber you filled with pot just coated your weed with resin and made it not as good. But back in the 70's everyone thought that filtering smoke through the weed made it better. Looking back it just ended up a sticky mess that tasted like crap.

Good times.

Oh, you're talking about chamber-pipes with weed storage within the neck of the pipe?? My girlfriend had one of those, anodized green  good times indeed.

Yes, the ones where you would put weed in the chamber where it would turn all sticky with black resin and people would smoke the weed afterwards thinking it was somehow better even though it tasted like crap and left your fingers a sticky mess.
