what to expect?

I'm just curious as to how much i should expect to harvest off 5 maui waui plants grown outdoors using a hydro system. and also is it better to use artificial lighting or the sun's natural light?

Nothing beats the sun man. If you plan on outdoor hydro you better have a lot of water and a chiller.

A chiller cools the water. Outdoors you are gonna deal with the sun so you need shade and a mini refrigerator thingy (chiller) that you pump water through. Without it you're talking slime and dead plants.

I just built a green house in my yard and last summer grew monsters in soil. Then I compared hydro to soil in a winter grow, that was cool. I actually had to heat the water instead of chilling it. Check out my greenhouse 2010 if ya want to see it.

I would say you're gonna need at least a 1/4 hp water chiller. About $450
I got a smaller one, 1/10 I think it is. paid like $300 for that I use indoors I may try out there this summer.

Why do you wanna go hydro man?
Get some soil mix and some smart pots, They are cloth pots. Set up a res with a pump and drain to waste. I'ts a hell of a lot easier and I bet would give you more bud in the end. I got a soil mix that rocks, did you see the monsters I grew last summer in those?
