This is my first grow. They are 33 days , both indica dominant. They are about 9 inches. Should I start trimming? The big leaves just sit on top of the new growth, some have passed the blockage, some haven't. I have FFOF , 96 watt t5 high output, I have been giving a small amount of grow big with every other watering. I transferred to a 5 gallon pot and see roots sneaking out, so I slowly shoved more soil to keep em from showing. My main concern is the trimming part.

DONT trim your leaves at all unless they are mostly a yellow color. Think of them like solar panels the shade leaves suck up the light the plant uses for photosynthesis. if they are gone the plant will have a harder time doing that. Your just vegging buddy trimming really isnt important at this point.

Thanx, maybe that's my concern. Idk how long to veg. I thought maybe I'd do 2 months...but I've heard people veg at 5 to 6 weeks.....

I don't personally agree with the above. I do selective trimming on my vegging plants, leaves that are just covering the new upward growth. I have to do that tonight as a matter of fact. I don't go nuts.

Also, I keep the low branches cut.......you're plants will love you for it. They make great clones for the next batch, and you get bigger colas. It's a twofer!

Don't be afraid to trim off a few leaves. Some of mine are 10" across.....those are just blocking the suns above from what I want to come up.

Good luck....and have fun!

Yes

Giant leaves that are choking out undergrowth should be trimmed. If you move a leaf and the shit underneath is super pale, then you know. Or if you have huge leaves overlapping and creating condensation between the two.

that depends on many factors but seeing ur growing under t-5s 4-5 weeks or 12-14inches unless u have hids (even 250 hps give u 5 times heavier better bud than t5 ever will) weeks depending on size the get in this time also train ur plants as they grow to expose lower branches to better light cause those lights might have 4-5 inches penatrating canopy (if that )meaning lower branches will diminsh overall harvest 4 -5 braches max unless all even canopy also lower N 10%week before budset for explosive bud set

I am lookin to replace the bulbs with warm, and I also have a 150 watt hps for flowering. I'm just not sure when its gonna be, since its my first grow and I don't know too much about the plants behaviors. Ive been doing research but nothing is better than experiencing it.

i had plants about the same size as yours. i transplanted into 5 gallon buckets and they are about 18 inches tall + the tallness of a 5 gallon bucket. they will double or triple in size when you flower. i would flower now if i was you.

If I were you I would put those plants under the 150w that you have for flower and just keep them on a veg schedule. They will grow a lot faster. The problem is that the pots are too big for this stage so you just slowed it down a little. Most of the growth is occuring under the soil right now. Once the roots start to stretch out (which it sounds like they are close) then you will start to see more rapid growth. Keep them in veg till they are a little less than half the height you want them to be at the end of flower. Also, your plants are 9" tall. You DO NOT need to be trimming any leaves at all. The light passes through leaves; especially when you add the HPS bulb. Don't worry about it at all. If anything, maybe play around a little with LST methods. You should not even be considering trimming leaves at this point. Later in flower then maybe.

very good job for 1st gro very healthy plants very nice genetiks u iz good br0 keep it up omg

i agree shut down now if older than 4weeks u dont have the light to get em huge 24-36inch for flower size max with 150hps and side lighting 12-16 max in growth unless using BUSHMASTER( verical growth inhipater sativa's can finsih 2 feet tall huge 2litre pepsi buds with this) but that little beyond ur needs and lighting at this point
