What to buy?

I emailed a few led grow light companies about shipping and there products. I haven't gotten a response, so I am thinking of making my own light.
I researched a bit but I don't have enough information on what to buy and where to buy it from, so if anyone would like to help lol

I am thinking of using cxb3070 or Cxb3590 haven't figured out which is worth it
I want to pull somewhere close to 400 actual watts and I don't mind paying extra for quality and I am ordering from Ontario Canada

If anyone can post links of the chips for sale, the holders, the heat sinks the driver/ whatever else I will need to build the lights

I have been trying to research it myself but feel I will end of getting ripped off lol
Also if you can tell me how efficiently they will run on the driver and how well the heat sinks will cool the lights

Have a look at the spreadsheets I have attached thanks to @SupraSPL for efficiency numbers. The CXB3590 is more efficient but the CXB3070 is no slouch.
You would need 8 COB's driven 50w each to hit your 400W mark. You can drive more softer to get better efficiency or drive less harder to save on cost. Give me
me some ideas where you would like to go with this and I can try to help you out on selection.

Going use it for veg and flower so I was thinking 6 cxb 3590 4000k not sure which bin running on 2 different 2.2 mamps driver to pull about 500 watts

Would that be a good set up? the only thing I am mainly worried about is the heat would running them that hard cause more heat than running 8 to achieve the same 500 watts
And don't know much about heat sinks yet but want to run it mostly passively if I can

For all around spectrum (veg-flower) I would go with something lower in the kelvin something around 3000-3500k they still have plenty of blue in the spectrum to veg but give a little more red for your flowering stage. As far as bin goes I would grab the highest bin available to you at the time.

10 x CBX3590 @ 1.4A = 236.09 heat w (488.5 total watts) 51.67% efficient
6 x CXB3590 @ 2.1A = 246.15 heat w (453.24 total watts) 45.59% efficient

HLG-185H-C1400 can run 4 CXB3590 @ 1.4A ($94 CAD)
HLG-120H-C1400 can run 3 CXB3590 @ 1.4A ($86 CAD)
Invertronics EUC-320S210DT(ST)
Will run 4 CXB3590 @ 2.1A ($150 CAD)
Invertronics EUC-320S140DT(ST)
Will run 6 CXB3590 @ 1.4A ($150 CAD)

Jerry Meng from kingbrite would be your best bet for CXB3590's cause there ridiculously priced here in Canada. [email protected]

12 CXB3070 + 3 HLG-185H-C1400 will run you about $950 CAD and net you 600 watts.
@ $450 per 4 that would cost $1350 (is that CAD or USD) and the link you provided has a list of $540 USD?
I know there are other costs like heatsinks, wiring etc but I love building my own lol

I offered $450 through eBay and it's a deal.

With the case and already made with a 180 day warranty I think it's better than the hassle of ordering it putting it together.

Yes!

That's a damn good deal too.
I am keeping it legal here in Colorado and already have the 2 Osram Zelion HL panels so just want 4 cxb3070 for my space.

It's from maple land. Maybe you know him!?!

Ok so if I wanted to run 6 Cxb3590 on 2.1a driver I am going to have to buy 2 drivers? So about $300 and how much would 6 Cxb3590s from kingbrite cost me? And how much would the heat sinks cost? Also would I need to buy anything else?

You should should buy 8 cxb3590 and either run them at 1.4 or 2.1. Buying 6 cobs and 2 of the 2.1 drivers is not good use of the drivers. On what money you save on the drivers by buying 1.4 you can buy 8 cobs. More efficient and same amount of light.

Send an e-mail to Jerry @ kingbrite and get a quote. He can supply the COB's, Holders, lenses or reflectors if you want any. Also has meanwell drivers but if you want 2.1A you out of luck there but you can get the invertronics in Canada through http://www.futurelightingsolutions.com/en/Pages/index.aspx?Language=en-CA
Last time I checked CXB3590's were $47.50 USD. As far as heatsinks there are tons of options heatsink USA, single CPU heatsinks etc. You will need holders, wiring, thermal paste. Need a drill with bits, tap to thread the holes for mounting. some other odds and ends. there is a load of information on the site just use the search function.
HOW TO POWER LED'S
HEATSINKS FOR DIY LED

There is a couple links to threads with overwhelming amount of information for DIY led's

even with 3 COB's per driver he is using just over 70% of the drivers maximum output voltage it would still be 89% efficient but adding a fourth will put driver efficiency up to 90%

what kind of grow space are we talking about here?? and budget
4x4 tent but I'm thinking of making the tent a bit smaller since I am only growing 4 in an aeroponics set up

What about 4 CXB3590 on a 3.2a driver? I have money to spend but would rather save it lol looking to spend $1000 or less these lights I found are $128 and shipping is free

Kingbrites light will cost me about $65 each plus $45 shipping but I don't really like their site looks a bit sketchy and not sure which bin they are

There is nothing sketchy about KingBrite you can have a look around this site and many guys have ordered from Jerry and he always carries the top bins. All you have to do is e-mail him to find out whats in stock. Last stock e-mail I received he had 110 CXB3590 36V CB bin which is exactly what your looking at on mouser for $128.05 CAD and can have them from Jerry for roughly $65 CAD
You can run them at 3.2A and get about 115 watts each but your efficiency is now down the gutter somewhere around the 35% mark. Which means your only getting about 40 par watts (Usable light)
WIth two CXB3590 @ 1.4A total watts is 97.7W @ 51.67% efficient therefore you get 50.48 par watts also running lower current means less heat watts to dissipate. Also Jerry quoted me $40USD shipping for my order quote last time I checked. Thats total not per LED.
