What the frig, is this emergency blanket mylar or not? This is driving me insane.

I went to 4 places, Sears, K-Mart, Walmart, and NONE of them had the emergency blankets. Than I went to Sports Authority, and this crap doesn't even look like its made of mylar.
It does say "certified space technology" on the box

http://www.survival-gear.com/survival-blanket.htm

But it also says "NEW, made of more durable, re-usable, tear resistant and *QUIETER* heatsheets polyethylene material.

I've never bought mylar before, but it doesn't say 'made of mylar' anywhere on the package. Also, does mylar make noise when you move it around? This stuff makes no noise. It looks like it may be a tad brighter than aluminum foil, but I'm just not sure its mylar and what I need. Does anyone know if this is the right stuff?

It looks basically the same as aluminum foil just that it feels more like thin plastic or something.

that is not it... walmart sells them in the camping section.. the are in a little rectangle box and has a little window opening where you can see the reflective part.. the whole thing is reflective.. its not actually made of mylar but can be used instead of the more expensive mylar

Ok maybe I confused you guys because that link doesn't show the inside reflective part. I can call Walmart again to see if they were maybe just out of stock when I went, but my problem is when I look at the shiny part, it barely seems anymore reflective than foil. It also appears to have a very thin haze over it and just doesn't look as bright as what Im seeing in some grow houses. The stuff I see in grow houses just looks cleaner, and has a vast contrast between the light and dark parts, almost like you will either see white or black reflecting from it. This stuff just doesn't seem as reflective, but I'm not sure if its just my eyes playing games with me. All I know is it looks pretty damn close to tin foil, although it makes no noise.

So you still think I should keep trying? For people who found the right stuff does yours look more reflective than mine? Or maybe I should take a picture of it after its IN the grow house? That way maybe you can see better by how light reflects off it? I can't believe they make more than 1 type of this crap this is so annoying.

And to the guy above me, that doesn't really look much more reflective than what I got: look at this stuff it looks more reflective than both of ours

that should work... the one from walmart is like 2.50 so not too much if ya wanna pick it up too... i use 2 of them.. 1 is hanging dividing the grow spot from my clothes and the other i cut up and covered posterboard with it and placed around the wall.

Ok thanks I read that even though its not as reflective as actual mylar the alumnium foil is like 50% reflective and this aluminized blanket stuff is 70% reflective. I wasn't about to order actual mylar or paint the walls white so I put it up like an hour ago. It does actually seem just a bit more reflective than the foil because it is a bit brighter in there. Now all I got to do is get reflectors in there and I should be set. I heard reflectors can cause 30-40% more light hitting the tops of the plant so I'm gonna try to rig something for right above the plants. The lights are about 2 feet away from the reflection on the cieling and its prob not really doing any good untill the lights get raised higher.

I'm so pumped though I also added CO2 today. I have a 1 gallon milk container with a ton of yeast and sugar, and I have the tube literally right about the tops of the plants so the CO2 sinks right down the foilage. And I through a tiny propane torch in there on low for additional CO2. I figure I'll turn the tank on for 3-4 hours a day and just leave the yeast to slowly generate CO2 all day. Lets see how these little guys like it I'm hoping they get nice and bushy. I can sometimes taste to CO2 on my mouth (acidy) when I open the door so I know its doing something lol.
