What tastes better soil or coco.

I want to grow in coco for the yield but not if the taste is really not as good as soil grown. I’ve never smoked coco grown before so I don’t know what it tastes like. What’s everyones opinion? I’ve heard coco grown is just as good. Can someone who has experience give me an honest opinion

Nobody knows but there isn't any good reason to think there is a difference. Taste comes from genetics and not fucking it up with a bad grow, jarring too soon, etc...

You can grow in straight perlite or pumice. Mix them. The medium, if not super soil, is just to hold the water and nutrients and support the root system.

No proof but I think it depends on how you do it. I mean like the type of soil vs basically the nutes.

Miracle grow plant in soil < a coco Grown plant with top of the line nutrients.

Add water super soil grown plant > crappy coco Walmart nutrient plant lol.

Again I have no proof of this but IMO and IME medium and nutrients have alot todo with taste.

Could be a cool experiment...I could run 5 in coco and 5 in soil on my next run??

Also you could try both like I am doing my current grow. I HEAVILY amended FFOF with coco and so far my girls are loving it. Taste report to come later lol

Like some people have already stated, the medium is just a place for your roots to develop. Unless you have highly amended soil that is alive, you won't notice much, if any, difference so long as you're feeding the same amount of nutrients. So you'd need to go organic to take advantage of all those organisms that deliver nutrients as opposed to giving your plant steroids to your plants which is pretty much what 98% of nutrients are...steroids for plants. Gets absorbed immediately by the plant, as opposed to microorganisms delivering nutrients to the roots.

Some strains have been selected for while in hydro on salts, others in soil etc...

I’m doing all organic now, feeing them WCT along with kelp tea, bat guano etc. the taste is awesome but I know a friend who grows in coco and his yields are insane. I’ve never smoked any of his though as he lives a long ways away, but it’s one of those things where the organic guys always say organic tastes better not matter what and
Then the hydro guys say BS, while they’re pulling in awesome yields. Right now I’m averaging 4 oz a plant. And then I see fools on YouTube getting 9 oz off a fucking auto and I’m scratching my head wondering what the hell im doing wrong here

The best quality will always come from living soil with the most diverse and active mix of soil flora and fauna. You really can't duplicate it in Coco or hydro.

Don't worry about yield per plant. It's no problem to fit 8 pants that hit 4 apiece under a single 1k light and there's your 2 a light benchmark for a solid minimum yield.
