I have been using a combo between Fox and CNN everyday to balance each other. I am looking for a source that is just the facts. Doesn't Bill O'Reilly says "just the fact's" LOL. Any suggestions?

Fox and CNN are pretty much on the same page. to counter them, you would need to view MSNBC.

Generally, I use the web, yahoo, google, etc....and I watch CNN or MSNBC if CNN has a commercial on while I'm watching it.I don't watch Fox, because they are skewed so far to the right I don't find them credible.

Right on. I threw Fox under the bus a long time ago.

Honestly, first I saw the movie, and then I began to look him up.My dad also used to listen to that one guy, Paul Harvey(and now for the rest of the story)...In general, I think the older newsmen were more dedicated to the truth, and the integrity of the media. It wasn't so hell bent on sensationalism, or useless "fluff" pieces. But then again, I enjoy history, and I love watching old movies and Americana. I can't imagine the patriot act passing back in the '50's...I think folks have lost a lot of their "gumption". But I could be wrong,I don't know every facet of history by a long shot.
Are you of that opinion because you actually watched and followed Murrow ... or because you saw the movie?

Just asking ...

I never watched news until 911! Then during the shock and awe I was of course hooked, all we had decent out in the country was fox. Then a few days/weeks later Geraldo was busted for reporting live from two places within half an hour that would have been impossible to travel that quick. It kinda blew me away cause I always thought the media wouldn't lie to us would they? hahah my how I have changed! Then I picked up the book propaganda, endless books about the Iraq/afganistan war, endless research on 911 and all american false flag attacks, a bunch of book on all the secret and not secret societies, I was surely terrified for a few months there. Now I don't pay too much attn but If I find something interesting I'll check a bunch of the sources posted earlier in this thread.

Hey med-man! Have you managed to get your x-box online yet? I feel like an ass about that. I looked into how to help you do that then I realized there are a number of different ways to go about that and I think some of it is different up here in canada than it is in the u.s. I knew you didn't want to read 1000 pages of info on the site but that's the best advice I can give ya sry mang.

Fuck O'Reilly. That old man is a scumbag that needs to get out and enjoy life. Such an ignorant bastard... I watched a show about marijuana and the man couldn't stop arguing against it and bitching at the person supporting mary jane.

Alternative media is the best source of info! Mainstream tends to distract you from news they don't necessarily want you to know about.

I hate watching the news. Too many murders, lost child stories, etc... It is politics and international diplomatic relations I like.

Actually, much worse happened a long time before the Patriot Act. Check this out ... during the Wilson administration, over 150,000 people were jailed in this country for speaking out against our entry into WWI. Leading up to WWII, authors representing the Old Right were black-balled by the media and major publishing houses and couldn't get published. Honestly, the progressives paint Bush as being the worst president in history as far as limiting individual liberty ... but there were far worse than Bush. Another thing to consider is that Lincoln, in his effort to keep states from seceding from the Union, was responsible for the deaths of 600,000 Americans on American soil.

Now then, as far as Murrow is concerned ... check out UNREVISED history regarding Senator McCarthy and Murrow's reporting of same.

But Mccarthy was evil, and he made a bunch of accusations of communism that simply weren't founded...he was a fearmonger, and Murrow brought that to light.Other folks were afraid to say anything.
