next grow is in a 3 car garage. In order to keep my plant numbers down (can only have 6 plants in bloom) I want to grow these plants as big as I can given the ceiling height. I cant use vertical lighting because of the heat so Ill be using hoods and inline fans and horizontal lighting. As a result I lose some effective ceiling height due to the lights having to be directly over the plants (as opposed to inbetween them with vertical lighting). I plan on having 1 huge plant per 1k watt light. Im thinking these plants can only be around 8-9 feet max because plants need to stay around 2 feet from the top of the plant.

What size smart pots should I use? Im thinking anywhere from 20-35 gallon smart pots but then im thinking this may be over kill.

dan the man is on point totes are easy and cheap. but there is no way you'll be happy growing 6 -9' tall plant under 6000 watts. You need to rethink this system. if you were to bloom 6 plants under 3k watts then have 6 more vegging for up to 8 weeks under another 2k watts, your harvests will be way more over the course oh the year. Or if you raelly want to grow some big ass trees, make them bushes LST the hell out those gals, having them 8 feet tall means that the bottom 4 feet isn't getting sugnifiacant light so buds will be fluff. If you list them and widen them out to like a 4 foot circle there will be a ton of quality bud
