What size pots to use in a 4x4 tent???

Hi there,

I will be using a 4x4 (1.2m x 1.2m) tent looking to do 4 plants at a time...

I will start in a party cup.. but dont know what size to move up tooo..

preferably in litres...

you don't even no wot pot size your gonna use...........I fear u have harsh times ahead of you my freind...........go online and start reading........!!!

I’d stick them in 10 gallon pots since you will have the room with 4 plants in there. You could go smaller to say 5 gallon pots but the bigger the better. The bigger the pot, the less you will be watering as well

I grow in a 2X2 closet space and can get two 5 gal and two 4 gal

edit: oops! thought OP was also growing in a 2X2

I've fit 12 5 gallons in a 4.5x4.5, so 4 10 gal pots in a 4x4 isn't unreasonable. I wouldn't run anything bigger then 5 gallon , personally, unless you're growing huge trees. I grow 3-4ft plants and have gone down to 4gal volume nursery pots (#5 maybe? ) from the 5 gal buckets, they didn't need the soil volume and it stayed wet too long. I am running very rich organic soil, so that might also be why I dont need the soil volume.

Yes 10 gallon is more then enough for indoors buddy. Keep laughing though.

Pot up from small to big as that will answer for you. I finished four in a 1x1m tent in 10" pots, use 8" if i run upto twelve plants as the only size that fits well enough.

I wanted to start in party cups and end in about a 4/5 gallon (20litre) smart pots... but don’t know what size to pot up to from party cup...

Edit; maybe even 25 litre (5.5 gal)

Depends what your growing in. With coco a three gallon pot is big enough. Five is good with soil. Some like to go bigger. Depends how long you veg before flowering as well.

I was think about doing 5 in 10gallon pots? I was think why have two side by side, when you can have one in the middle. In a 4'x4'x6.5 tent. Is this douable? 1,000 Watt HPS

no. i have a 4x4 and i do 6 in 3gal or 4 in 5gal. if you have healthy plants a single 10 gallon could fill a 4x4.

I also grow in a 4 x 4. Ive tried 4 plants in 300mm pots, 9 plants in 200mm pots and for me the best results are 9 plants in 250mm pots.
