What size pots for maximum yield?

Hi, I currently have 6 diesel ryder seedlings, I just transplanted 3 of them into 2gal grow bags, and still have 3 in solo cups. They are under a 600W HPS set to 18/6.
My question is should I transplant the remaining 3 DR's into bigger pots? (3 or 4 gal) would I get a better yield since they are in bigger pots than the 2gal or what?

Is diesel ryder an auto strain? if so, 2 gal pot will be perfect, maybe even too big.I grew some autos awhile back in 3 gal pots and i found out the pots were waaaay to big. Since autos are done so fast, they dont need as much soil i guess.
If their not auto strain, you can use as big of a pot as u like. The bigger the pot, the more vegging you will need of course.

actually, i dont kno too much about autos, you may want an answer from someone with more knowlenge on those

I grew an easyryder in a 1gal pot...planted another seed and transferred it to a 3gal pot and it is growing way faster....I would say no less that a 2-gal pot....3gal tops I wouldnt waste the space on anymore than 3gals...per plant

Im trying to think how much you could possible yield with a 600 watt hps, and 6 autos. I thought autos are known for being fast, not big yield, so with a 600 watt hps, i would think you need to do about 20 autos, cause 6 autos max yeild i would guess 6 oz, which is horrible for 600 watts hps. But again, idk much on this topic,. ill be eager to see a good answer

2 gal is fine. I had 20 easy ryders in 2 gal sqaure pots and I had 5 that were sativa dominant, the tallest being 26 or 27 inches and they loved their home. My yield wasn't as much as it could've been, but it was mostly because I was using miracle grow organic soil, which was all that was available to me at the time, but the potency was outstanding.

I pulled about a zip off of my last easyryder dry weight and it was an auto of course growing a speed devil#2 and another easy ryder trying the "leaf tuck" technique.....hoping to get multiple tops without lst'n an auto. hopefully I might pull maybe 2 off of each their looking pretty promising right now! but I would say to pull 6 zips from autos go with the russian rocket fuel as ive heard they get REALLY big for an auto and yeild quite a bit more than most....You could do 6zips off 3 or 4 plants easy if you have the right temps,light,humidity,nutes! I really like the auto because their quick and pretty good for being so quick! these are done in the time it takes to veg a normal plant most of the time! but im doing a journal right now on my first photoperiod plants....white domina and green poison some freebies from attitude! airpots are the best

3.4 gallon airpot > 5 gallon pot

look into airpots, they are the #1 pot at the hydroponic store I go to. in a side by side comparison they will yield a bigger plant vs a traditional pot.

You're goddam right, Smoke. I've never heard of too big a pot. The smallest pot I'd ever use is a 5...and all of my new stuff is in 10's. I put 25 Lavander X Afgan X Purple Kush plants into 5 gallon pots 1 week ago and the roots are already showing at the drain holes.
