What size pot for autos

so I just got my fastbuds seeds in the mail. I got Girl Scout cookies and fastberry. Will be growing them in HF and perlite so none to verylittle nutes should be needed. I know to only transplant them once or put them directly into the pot they will be finishing in. What size pots should I go? I’m growing two in a 2x2x4 tent so not much space.

I like 3 gallon pots. This year i too am trying hard plastic ones and I have used fabric root pouches before.
Well I got my first ever grow going now in my 2x2x4 which is two SoMango Photoperiod plants in 3gal fabric smartpots, using happy frog soil mixed with some perlite. Under a 300w viparspectra.

This next grow I'm doing the opposite and trying out everything new.

2x different strains, both autos. in plastic instead of fabric, coco instead of soil or maybe doing one in soil and one in coco, havent decided yet.

I am using happy frog soil and grow stones (Marble sized perlite rocks). 1 cheese and 1 amnesia auto on the deck. They just hit 5th node today.

I have closet grow with same space and can fit 2, 4 gal and 1, 5 gal and little left for like a 1 or 2 gal.

my problem is height as using closet shelf to hang lights and not sure I can handle as big as 5 gal (AK-48) without much cropping (which I did on my one 5 gal) but remains to see if it will outgrow my space. Harvest Maui in 2-3 weeks and cropped them twice making 4 colas plus lateral buds in 4 gal pots. Check my grow in sig:

Autos CAN be grow in a very small pot like a 2 gallon if you cycle its light correctly. I recommend 5 gallons to be safe! :D

I think a good gauge is 1 gallon oer.month ot grows. There are big autos that can fill a 5 gallon. Mine are aboutb12 weeks seed to done.

In coco you can do smaller pots.

But they grow in solo cups too.

Too much pot restricts growth as the plant soends energy rooting up the pot.

But they all work. Autos are easy.

I had read pot depth has more influence over autos than photos. Something about when the tap root hits bottom they slow, or stop, vertical growth. The last 2 I grew in 5 gal buckets, rather than the shallow 5 gal totes i was using, ended up taller then any others. Food for thought.
