What size dehumidifier in 4x4 tent?

What size dehu do you guys run or suggest for a 4x4 tent 7 feet tall?


I picked up a 45 pint unit but it is 400w and big and I think overkill. Lol so trying to find smaller one that will still do job..

It is kind of the same. The 400w will run for a shorter period of time than the smaller one so it should pencil out the same electricity wise. Do you live someplace that is super humid? I feel like a 600+ watt light does a pretty decent job of keeping humidity around 60%or lower if you are venting the tent often enough. I have a buddy in the dirty south that has the same results with no dehumidifier (this kind of surprises me).

Are you having mold/mildew issues?

I am growing all LEDs and c02 so i have to run a completely sealed temp for the c02 and to keep the tent warm

Ambient temp where i grow is 60* or so... and if i ventilate at all... no way i keep keep temps up in the 70* range as these LEDs are not the best for heating

No mold issues yet as my tent grow has only been flowering for about 3 days lol... but had experience with mold before in my big grow room in which i have a large dehu for this reason

400w isnt a killer amount but i would rather have less watts over longer period of time as im kinda pushing my limits on the breakers i have setup right now and less is better

I just cant find any advice on what size dehu to run as most people all ventilate and refresh the air quite frequently in a tent

I know this doesn't answer your question but you are probably better off venting at least once every few hours. It'll probably be the most efficient way to lower the humidity and I know you said you can't vent to keep your temps up but your plants need oxygen as well. Do you have a ppm meter? Just tryin to help figure out the most efficient way to keep temps,humidity,co2 in line. What is your humidity at without the the dehumidifier. What's your co2 ppm if you know it?

Get the 45 pint for sure. The lower the humidity after the buds are formed the better. It will also help with nighttime lows.

Get the 45 for sure. I have the 70 pint/day model for a 5x7x7 room. It doesn't run that often, but they sure put out a lot of warm air. You might be getting that tent too warm if you have one running for long periods of time. As far as electricity goes, like the person said above, during lights on, the heat from the lamp will dry things up a bit, at night when the tent gets low in temps, and the plants are transpiring a lot, that dehumidifier will kick in and dry/heat the tent up good.

Thanks for all advice, my tent is currently unzipped slightly to allow fresh air as my c02 is in the mail right now, should be here by weekend which I planned on running 1300 ppm but I don't have it yet

I guess I'm glad I bought the 45 pint model? I have a 30 pint for a 10x10 area so figured this was way overkill, I just got a good deal on it and had to buy it.

Yeah expect your humidity to go up with the co2 as well. Good luck! Hopefully as it warms up you can get away with venting every few hours.
