What Should I Be Feeding my Seedling?

Thanks man, i really appreciate that.

And I've just now started using distilled water, and i'll give the Big Bloom a shot except maybe a little lower dosages for the OG's. At least my plants look about as far along as yours do as in they have formed the same number of leaves as yours (they are 17 days now exactly, same as yours in the pic) but yours just looks more healthy because the leaves are bigger and thicker.

Anyways, thanks a lot for the advice. When do you start with the Grow Big? Do you just follow the feeding chart?

Yo Alex, they are 25 days today and just starting to let go of the stalk....you really cant see down under there, but they are........these got just a "little" clonex seedling solution for a week.

Thats a good looking plant, man. Way bigger than I can imagine mine will get within a week. Could the overwatering and/or tap water be the reason my plant is much smaller than yours as well?

The guy in the help thread said that its totally natural for my cotyledons to be falling off so I am hoping he is right.

Thanks for helping me everyone. I know I'm definitely not a natural at this and I've been making a lot of newbie mistakes already.

i usually wouldnt use grow big until about 3-4 weeks depending on if the plant is a heavy or light feeder. i cant remember off hand if you said your gonna use ff ocean forest or not but if so, in a few days or a week transplant into ffof and then dont feed for 30 days. if your gonna use light warrior for your whole grow then at 3-4 weeks depending on how green and healthy the plant is start using grow big at 1/4 to 1/2 strength and gradually increase to full strength.

Over-watering can always open the door for lots of uneeded things. As far as tap water.....I bought an RO system, and it works beautifully.Tap water, if you are in the city, im sure you know you can get a report of your local water, right online.
I am in the belief, that any city tap water under around 200 ppm is ok.You just have to watch out for salt build-up, and undissolved compounds. If you have a TDS meter, give your tap water a read, if you haven't already....Our tap water is around 125 ppm, here in the city, but I still wanted the RO system.RO systems can possibly take out such much minor trace elements, so with that you have to make sure your greenery is getting everything it needs...
Yours ar just FINE, man.Its normal for them to fall off, when they do is all just part of all the different dynamics of all our growing, all our own locations, methods, temps, water, strain type, everything can sumto this total. So dont get nervous.....I think alot of people get so nervous, being that there is so much information out there to learn and absorb, that they think they ought to be doing this, and doing that, and buying this product or that product.....well in the end for most beginners, they probably would have been better off if they let the plant just do its thing, instead of incorporating so many things into their new journey, that really they end up doing more harm than good for the plants.
The difference b/n your seedlings and mine, are simple....its a different strain, and I got about 20 years on ya.But keep your head up, "Evreetings good Mon-"
Just find yourself a few people on here that seem to know what they are talkin about, and most of the old schoolers' dont mind lending a hand here and there.

Thanks farmerjoe, and I'm using Light Warrior right now and plan to transplant into a 50/50 mix of Ocean Forest and Light Warrior because thats what I've read is best. Actually it might be more Light Warrior than Ocean Forest because I have read some threads saying that is better and also I don't have as much Ocean Forest and its not available locally so I have to pay out the ass to have it shipped here. What do you use?

And thanks Mrs. Robinson, i really appreciate your help too. I'm being careful not to overwater anymore. I'm weighing the solo cups on the scale to tell when they need watering, i just figured it would be more exact than the "pick it up and feel when it needs watering' method that everyone is always suggesting. My OG Kush seedlings are going to need their first watering in a few days (they are currently 3 days old), and I was wondering if I should use the spray bottle on the top of the soil like I did for the first watering on the seedlings from this thread, or if I should just pour water in there like normal?

I've switched to distilled water now, so hopefully that will help this not happen on my OG Kush seedlings and Jack the Ripper. Should I adjust the pH of the distilled water to 6.5?

Nah, just use a small cup, so you can get the water up to and under the foliage to water it.Some would probably just pour the damn shit all over and on top of the plant, causing to get mashed into the soil and then soil going all over....lmao
You will get the "feel" of when your kids need watering...weighing on the scale, is a way to go about it, lol....sorry, but everyone has there thing.you dont need to get into all that.Work with your hand and your eye, so you can aquire that "natural greenthumb"...you will know when they need a drink.

A little foliar misting from time to time, is a good thing with seedlings.Just plain water though. No nutes...

Always Ph your water, when you start using nutes, then too.. cool cool, if you gotta holler i'm around, hope i could help....and your welcome! Peace-

i use either pro-mix or espoma potting mix. both plain soilless mixes but the espoma has a little peat humus in it. you can adjust the distilled water if needed. ive always heard its neutral but recently read something saying the oppisite but it wont hurt to check and be safe. if you dont wanna have to worry about mixing this and adjusting that and measuring this, maybe you should give sub's supersoil a try. it may actually work out great because you only have to water and give sugars twice in flowering. im a survivor myself and i dont know if this is your first battle with cancer but chemo definitely takes a toll on you and if i ever have to get it again, i think i will go the supersoil route because its not demanding and you definitely get good meds.

Yeah man, this is my first time I have never done chemo before. I was thinking of trying subcool's super soil too as well as starting a few plants in coco just to give several different methods a shot and see which works best.

I just wanna be careful not to repeat these mistakes on my OG's and Jack the Ripper. So i'll try to water less frequently and lay off the feeding except Big Bloom once a week like farmerjoe said. Do yall have any idea why my plants are too small for their age? Is that also a result of overwatering? Or could it be from the incorrect pH?

I only have the GH pH kit with the test drops because I'm kind of tight on money. Do yall think I should buy a proper pH tester?

well, when you over water, you drown the roots( no O2)...second the roots never grow cause they are drowning, they have water, so they never have to grow to "Search" for water,
And when roots dont grow, the plant no gro-

YES YES proper Ph tester.....a must have

Well thanks, I'll be more careful about overwatering with my OGs and JTR. Overwatering is more a problem of watering too frequently than too much at a time, right? Because honestly I'm still working on what is the correct amount of water to add at each watering but I think I've got it now that I'm using the scale. And like you said I will try to teach myself to do it without the scale.

Are there any other possible problems that could be causing them to grow slowly?

Oh and I'm watering by pouring it out of a shotglass near and around the base of the plant, but I'm not pouring it on the plant or anything, haha.

I'll buy a good pH tester soon, I gotta order an MH light soon anyways so I'll get it when I order that. I really appreciate both of yall answering my newbie questions. Both you and farmerjoe have been very helpful and patient with my dumb questions..

I would say around the equiv. of 3-4 shotglasses every5-6 days for now. its better to under water than over water.

the only other problem is......leavem' be....its like watchin and waitin for water to boil....lmao.................................they are growing ,relax

Ok, I'll try to worry less.

Maybe the problem is underwatering then because I was originally just thoroughly spraying the top of the soil up until about day 10 where I started to water with the shotglass. But I only gave them about 1.5-2 shots worth each.

EDIT: well it was time to water for some of the other 16-17 day old seedlings so I gave them some 2tbs/gallon Big Bloom. I can compare it to the ones that I gave the Grow Big since I got some of each.

Good Meds.....good medsssssssssssssssssssssssss..

yeah good meds as in medicine. i dont know if you noticed or not but alex said he is getting ready to start chemotherapy.

chemotherapy = cancer = patient = medicine ( meds )

hence the word meds. :dunce: you know some people actually get medical relief from cannabis.

No worries brah.....it's a constant struggle to not succumb to "Babylon". We always are at peace and full of love, that way we project peace and love...Hard to do sometimes, but then again, we are not as perfect as the Almighty, and if there wasnt a lesson to be learned from every interaction, we wouldnt be here.....Blessings-----And yep, there is still some of us out here in Babylon :)
