Ok so about 5 minutes ago there was somebody knocking on my door, it's 12:20A.M. here. They knocked for around 5 minutes, towards the end they announced they were security... I did peek thru the peep hole for a second and it was this white dude, this average looking guy, I didn't answer the the door, or make my prescence known. There was a letter from the complex saying there has been some breakins and such. Let me premis this by saying I just moved to a new town 6 months ago and really don't know anyone, I smoke with no-one, no-one knows where I live. My grow is smalll and i keep the odor under control and of course sell to no one. So I am wondering what was this, a knock and talk, I feel that's impossible becasue no-one knows, so I am a bit concerned at this point of what to do with my grow... I will wait it out ommorrow and call up the apartment office to see if I can get a grip on what just happened...

You did the right thing! I don't care who is knocking on my door at 12AM, but that door is not opening under my control. It could have been a serial rapist, a drunk asshat, or who knows? When you call the office in the morning, if it was somebody sent by them, express your extreme displeasure from the rude awakening. Somebody better be dying to knock on a door that late!:joint:

Your probably ok, dont sweat it. However, I would at least ask the apartment staff if the security guard is legit. Tell them what happened, your a concerned tenant.

Yeah I think it might have been a home invasion type of thing or a drunk guy .There was a flyer from the apartment about recent breakins and people going thru cars. I'm just trying to calm down now! Thanks for the reassurances

i dont live on a sketchy street but got crackheads knocking on my door.

when i first moved in i got a lawnmower and bike and some other shit stolen out the backyard. goddamn crackheads

You did the right thing. You are not compelled to answer your door, EVER!

Call the management company tomorrow and explain what happened and ask for an explanation. It is quite possible that bad guys are posing as security to ease home invasion.

Unless it was an emergency, there was NO valid reason why this clown was knocking on your door after MIDNIGHT.

Either way, the management company should be notified tomorrow.

Ok, so I spoke with the front office and it turns out somebody broke into my car last night. And it was a security guard knocking on my door last night. The security guard was patrolling and came across some people going thru my car, he just wanted to talk to me, the people that were going thru my car ran off. So its all good, but I need to remember to lock my car at night...

No, I never keep anything of value in my car, the car is fine they didn't damage it in any way, it's just kind of fucked up!

If you don't have a big dog, get a recording and put it so it growls right by the front door. I am NEVER afraid with this girl greeting everyone.. 8)

I wouldn't have opened the door either. It's good to know about the security guy, but still, if you're by yourself... uh uh.

haha my dog works great too for answering doors! She hatesmost people and goes crazy when people ring the bell or knock.

But yeah man i remember someone broke into m car and took gum and a disposable camera...
