i red on the net that i need cfl lights for the first bit.

i got this 75 watt heating lamp for a snake. its got a red bulb and its a cfl.

will this be good for day old clones ? or to much heat ?

also i didnt use rooting compound for the clones (dont got none) just a 45 degree cut under water and stright into some good wet soil.

whats the chance that they will pull through ? many ppl done it with out root compound ?

I would use a few 100 watt CFLs. The heat is minimal and the light isn't too intense. I've experimented with both ways of cloning. The compound really, really helps, and makes the roots thrive which ensures that roots will grow.

I've also had success with just throwing them into the soil. Just make sure you keep that soil wet for the first week, then let it dry out completely before watering like normal. I also water an inch from the stem after 1 week, so the roots have to reach a bit to get water. Make sure the clones are getting some sort of dark period to stimulate new growth. I like the 18/6 for clones.
