What LEDs for 3x3 tent?

There are no temp issues with a 315. You get an affordable plug and play light with a proper complete spectrum of light.

You can also get an A/C hood if you deem it necessary but that is rarely the case. You need to listen to people who have actually used the lights they're talking about and not guys going off of bro science and have no experience.

But if you are going to go COB I commend you for taking the DIY route.
Who was going off bro science? I've been going by what everybody on here has said... you being one of them. ha. and forming my own opinion. Which is why earlier In this thread I said I would consider the cmh and also as why I am highly considering building my own cob, per what people here recommend.

I was not referring to you bro calm down lol. You have certain people giving you advice on products with no experience with said products. It's up to you to weed out the facts is all I am saying.

There will be no more heat issue with a 315 than with COB's in it's place in a 3x3. As I have stated before already My SS315 with the ballast on the light ran 5-10 degrees cooler in my 3x3 (not air cooled) than my old Tasty T4-2100 light. The CMH brought out nicer color in the plant too.

My first ever grow, SS315 in a 3x3 yield was 1/2 lb dry 8 week veg. Just the one plant.

Edit: I had to dig through the 315 LEC thread but here's the plant, this was my first grow ever back in May

Hard to tell nowadays in here. I am just trying to help.

My 3x3 right now is temporarily running my 8 bulb T5 and open until my 600W Blue MH bulb arrives. I sold my COB light.

When I had my SS 315 I just had my 4" fan/filter combo which vented out into the room. I did not A/C my 315 but if one wanted or needed to you can (depending on reflector) and you would have some really low temps. I run passive intakes as my grow area is a spare room with tents.

For a 315 today this would be the route I would go:

That reflector is just as good as the SS one, and if you need it later or right away for $30 you get the A/C kit. This also allows you to have your ballast outside the grow area if you want (I recommend this)

Some kind of tube/enclosed vented fixture would be nice so you can get rid of the heat with an inline fan.

Either way you do it you'll need exhaust.

They make a 4" version I'd grab that for your 3x3. Comes with the speed controller really nice setup and not very loud. I have a 6" in my 5x9 cooling two HPS and running at maybe 35% speed. In my 3x3 I have the same and it runs even lower so very quiet. I like to have more fan than I need and be able to run it quieter. Just me though.

48.875W per cob isnt that soft IMO, but I got you.

I highly doubt you can build an LED to cover a 3x3 for cheaper than you can buy a 315 CMH , and they don't put off much heat.

Building it is part of the hobby and fun. Having IR and UV isn't going to do much anyway and if he wants it that bad he's better off adding a reptile bulb he can turn off while he's around his plants so he doesn't damage his eyes, or run it on a separate timer so it's off when you're around them.

I'm not getting into anymore pissing contest over COB's brother. We are all entitled to our opinions, mine are based on feedback from growing in real life with a real garden and actually using the technologies discussed.

What does this have to do with cobs vs anything? Are you naturally that sensitive or just looking to start an argument over nothing? You made a comment about having to build a light and still have no uv/ir. I said building is half the fun and you can add uv light yourself. No need taking it where it doesn't belong going....
