mr.howardmarks it would not cost 10-20k to set up this kind of grow and if thats what you would spend than it is you who doesn't know what they are doing.

I don't care who you are. a pound a week is a nightmare. you'd do nothing else but grow. cut clones, mist them, root them, transplant (soil). you'd have to have ultimate trim skills. even if you got the best nug in the world to trim it takes at least a half hour to trim an ounce, sometimes an hour if you got popcorn. You'd have to be on point with the tables (Hydro), dates. If its a one man show you hate it. Imean its possible, but if you're asking this question, you are prolly not reay to begin an endeavor like this... and if you're that green you want to start with a soil grow so you don't muck up an entire table of hydro.

In my imaginary grow 8oz per wk

Nutrients - 2000 dollars or more...

Think about it... Do you have 10,000 dollars? That's just the basic necessities... Not all the shit you're gonna need... So 15k is a good estimate...

check out his grow journal and you will see that he has bought most of the equip you speak of and has experience doing larger grows.. hell check my signature.. i built it all myself out of shit you get at home depot, i dont even have hoods or reflectors and mine still cost 5gs to setup.

you are forgetting you neeed a carbon filter or two, you need fans, you need ducting. if you do hydro you need a hydro system.. if you do soil you will need a bunch of pots and a shit ton of dirt.. you also need a ton of nutrients..

i CHALLENGE you, yes thats right challenge you to go onto any major hydroponics website and fill out a cart with everything you think that you need to grow a lb a week for less than 10gs.. it wont happen

Well technically you're both right. A huge grow op could be done on the cheap using magnetic ballasts and surplus equipment. I could probably do it on $1000 given time to shop and collect the stuff, but that would not be using hydro or nutrients for hydro either that would be some miracle grow crap soil under less efficient used hps's with no mylar and crap like that, just white painted walls. DIY everything including carbon filter.

It would be a full time job for a couple weeks just to find bargain used equipment and another week just to set it up and then full time job forever after that.

Yes try to do it with hydro and add up retail stuff at a grow shop and forget it, not happening for less than several thousand dollars.

It was (I mean would have been) really hard to get rid of soil all the time and dispose of the root balls.

there is absolutely no way you could set up a large scale grow op producing 8lbs on 1000 dollars... will not happen no where no how well unless you are growing huge monsters outside in dirt.. indoors the electricity alone to power those lights and cooling equip would cost more than 1000 dollars..

Just a couple months ago I picked up over 30 250w halide fixtures for free off craigslsit. I didn't say optimal, I said it was possible and less effiecint than other methocs. Don't tell me it can't be done though, because I already did it. More than once.

There are opportunities for grabbing HID's in volume on the surplus market from building demolitions and renovations. Those last ones were from a high school, free for just hauling them away. They replaced them with the new big cfl's to save on energy costs. It was every light in the gymnasium.

Most of the bulbs were still useable even.

grows that big, and with that "motivation" behind the grow usually dont last long...
usually because the grower trys to save money by doing shit wiring jobs, not buying the essentials, stealing power and generally just being really greedy

keep in mind your asking people for help to grow $100,000-$200,000 worth of medication a year, your motivation is obvious, and its not to actually learn anything

if you cant even take a little advice, i dont see you producing any of your own buds any time soon. good luck though.

in my last 2 man op we were getting 1lb every 50 days, and even that takes about an hour a day, and then harvest which is a long weekend of cutting, cleaning, manicuring..... and you want to do this every 7 days? like said before... this WILL be more than a full time job, its called being a FARMER, and on that scale it would take crew... and thats when shit gets messy

just to MANICURE and trim all that bud youd probly end up shelling out $1000 for one of those auto trimmers
